I hope I'm not getting too personal here but.....

My girlfriend has just started the SBD and heard that if you are going thru menopause the weight loss will be less than normal and harder to lose. Has anyone had that experience? I'm wondering if that is true and, if it is, can anyone give me an idea what would be a more realistic weight loss / goal for her.

Thanks for any insite.

( I hope this isn't a repeat question, but the search isn't working)

I am not on the SBD but I can tell you from personal experience that the weight loss is very slow for me right now. I just started going through menopause and cannot for the life of me lose those pesky 10 pounds I have put on. I also have discovered that those extra pounds have found there way to my stomach, I have never had extra weight around that area of my body but it sure is there now, so I do think that menopause effects weight loss in some women.

I'm low-carbing, and although my loss has been slow (probably due more to cheating that menopause), I'm heading toward my goal. I must say that the fact that I feel so much better about myself now has probably offset some menopausal mood swings. Yes, menopause may make it more difficult- but not impossible.
