Mennards was famous for their 11% rebate on everything in the store but they always made it sound like it was off on whatever you bought. But actually it was mail in in store credit.
The ads always said say faucets were 19.99. Then they’d day the sale price. Then they say the amount after mail in rebate.
When in reality you have to make another trip and spend even more to use the rebate
I’ve said for a long time this seems like false advertising

Yep... that's why I try to ignore what their 11% off price says. I always thought it was crappy of them to advertise that way.

I've found that Menards sells the cheapest stuff out there, very low quality. I've always shaken my head at their bait-and-switch "discounts," which all come back to them in the long run.

We supposedly had the 11% rebate on an expensive washing machine. We sent in the appropriate papers and never heard from them again! We would have received a substantial amount on the washer. It was too much bother to battle the for it. Yes, I am glad others are aware of it too. What a lie.

We replaced our exterior lights and the same happened to us. You have to send the original receipt, there's no way to track, and it it takes 8-10(?) weeks to get the rebate.

Yea, we never saw that money. Menards said they have nothing outstanding for our name/address.

Not as much as a washer, but still a significant chunk of money.

I've never shopped at Menards. How does it work? Do you have to get mail in forms and attach receipts? Think of all the people you need to hire to process the mail? Sounds like a great way to bog yourself down in red tape along with the customers and piss off customers even if you're not trying to do so.

The count on people not bothering with all that flapdoodle. And the ones who do are unlikely to see their “rebate.”

Yes, before leaving the store, you get one of the rebate forms (or I think you can download one one online), fill it out, mail it in with the original receipt, then wait 8-10 weeks for the rebate CREDIT(?). Pretty sure it's just store credit at least.

Regarding rebates in general, it is a whack a mole process to get your money from anyone lately. When we built in 2023 all the appliances were new. There was one rebate that I followed up on and the agents insisted it wasn't valid for whatever reason. I gave up. Low and behold I got a check for the amount $50 or so about a year later...apparently they were audited.

I adore Menards, and love the 11% rebate. It is not hard, it is very well known how it works, and they sell almost EVERYTHING so getting it back in store credit is lovely for me - cuz I can get baked beans or a faucet or a Christmas tree. The only thing I agree with in this is they will now explore online redemption, which is long overdue.

I always have receipts out to them/rebates on the way back - always seamless and worth the time spent.

My DH does the rebates and has never had a problem getting the rebate amount sent to him. These amounts have been put towards many things. We think it’s a great program 🙂👍🏼

I fell for the Menard's 11% thing, once. Once was enough. I thought it would be an online thing, enter your register number, get a check several weeks later. Get home, find I have to complete a paper form, attach receipt, and mail, with a stamp. I do all that BS and then wait for about 2 months, maybe more. I finally get the "rebate", a store credit, good only at Menard's for another purchase, and in person no less, can't use it online. :badpc: I tossed the credit thing they sent into recycling.

Marie likes that store but has never done the rebate. I just assume everything there is priced at least 11% more.
