what is the craziest/dumbest thing you ever did as a teen/young adult. I have a brother and he and his friends used to do alot of stupid/crazy things. They jumped big dirt hills with their bikes while trying to do flips. They blew things up with firecrackers that they shouldn't. They made potato cannons, and lit aerosole spray on fire. They drove too fast, and the list goes on.
I have twin 15yo sons and my home is base central for alot of teenage boys. These guys are pretty open with me and I catch wind of alot of dumb stunts. One group of boys plays a game like chicken that involves throwing balls hard at certain private parts.
I just pray that God helps me get my sons to 21 in one piece.
Why do they do this stuff? When does common sense start to kick in? What can I do except monitor the heck out of them.
My one son during a sleep-over went pool hopping at 2am. Boy did that result in some trouble.

I used to play around with calcium carbide (used in miner's lamps) until I managed to nearly blow myself up with the acetylene gas that is produced when you mix the stuff with water. That's probably the dumbest thing that I did as a kid.

In my motorcycling days, I had a vanda-cruise device on my throttle and I was know to set the cruise control and then slide back into the passenger seat, kick down the pegs, and ride without holding onto the handlebars at highway speed.

It's amazing that I've managed to survive this long.

TC, that's just the sort of stuff I'm talking about. My sons and their friends are good kids. But sometimes they think of doing the dumbest/scariest stuff.
I have a nephew who fell some huge height and had to be medivac'd to a hospital, because he was stringing a metal cable between two tree tops (the tallest he could find) trying to play American Gladiators. He was very fortunate.
Do you have sons, cause what goes around comes around. And it doesn't help that when lots of the relatives get together some of the guys are still kids at heart. Instead of saying that was dumb, they pat them on the bat and laugh. And they all played with the potato cannon. And believe it or not, we are an educated family who play tennis and golf, and do not marry first cousins.

I did plenty of stupid things in my teens, but the only two I can think that were life threatening were jumping onto moving trainsand climbing up a cliff without any kind of training or proper equipment. The trains were moving slowly when we jumped on, but tended to gain speed when it was time to jump off. I made through my teens without too many bumps and bruises.

Oh by the way I have two sons, ages 14 and 10. So far nothing too stupid out of my 14 year old. I think he's too lazy to try anything that requires any effort, but that another story.

Yep, just boys. One broke a wrist playing football, and a rib jumping off a construction site dirt pile with a ramp and a bike.
The other broke his hand skateboarding on a porch rail. Fireworks, lighters, and flamable items are a source of stress. One on a dare ran thru a store in a speedo. God help me next year when the both drive.
