Good morning,

Not sure if this is the right spot. I have purchase memory maker and I want to know, Will the CM take pictures for us at our character meals? How easy/hard would that be? Will I need to bring my own camera for these moments and just use Memory maker at the parks? TIA!

The character meals that have a meeting with a character before you are seated will have attendants and photopass. The characters that come to your table will not have attendants or photopass.

There are photographers - at certain locations. At 'Ohana breakfast the characters come to your table and there is a photo pass photographer that takes some pictures of your group as well.

But does Photopass come with the characters to the tables? That's the distinction I was trying to make.

The photo when entering 'Ohana would be similar to the character out front (like at Akershus), only just of your group instead of with the character.

At 'Ohana yes, I've seen photopass walk through with Stitch. Not with all others though. Whether that's changed is another story.

That's surprising! That's the first report I have seen of a photographer with a character in the dining room of a character meal. I assume that's the exception and not typical.

Could it be that Poly has a Photopass table in the resort itself? That doesn't explain why GF doesnt since they have the same thing, but just a thought as to why.

We have a character meal for everyday of our 7 day visit. It looks like I might have to take my own pictures with the characters at meal time. Do you think its wise for me to still pay for Memory maker?

I love Memory Maker! It's not a replacement for my own camera, but I adore ride photos and have a collection of every year with nighttime castle pictures (and I can never get those right with my own camera). At character greets (not meals, but meet and greet lines) I sometimes use my camera for video and rely on the Photopass for still pictures (but you have to watch the few groups in front of you to judge is the photographer will just take the posed picture at the end or if he/she will take candids along the way). You also get the magic shots along the way.

If all you want it for is character meals, then I wouldn't recommend it. But if you want lots of photos for the whole week, I'd recommend it. Your kids are old enough to be on plenty of rides with photos, so you'll get your money's worth on that. Even the 3-year-old can get ride photos on Mine Train (if you have Magic Bands). And one year at Disneyland I found a not-busy photographer who took us on a mini-photo shoot around part of Fantasyland. She posed us all over the place and I got great family photos (perfect for the Christmas card that year). A different year a photographer saw my son and I in Frontierland and took a bunch of great pictures of us by the river. Some of my favorite pics of us together!

Another thing to remember is that you'll get the photos from Enchanted Tales with Belle if you have Memory Maker. I find it really tough to get a good photo in there (the lighting is really weird and kind of blue-ish) so I'm always glad I get their photos, especially if one of my kids is chosen as the Beast.

Thank you. I will keep Memory Maker. Thank you again.

Yes - sorry I wasn't very clear. There is no longer a photo opportunity when you enter 'Ohana. A photographer does come to the table with the character to take some pictures of your group with the character.

Definitely not typical. We thought it was so nice to have these photos in addition to the ones we took with our own camera!
