Is the memory maker worth it? Is it difficult to get a photographer when walking around? Do you need to wait in line to get your picture taken? I know with characters you do, and ride puctures just happen, but what about random pictures and candida? Do they take pictures at quick service restaurants?
As to whether it's worth it, the pre-purchase price is $170 and the price for purchasing individual pictures is $15 per download. So if you think you would buy more than 11 pictures, you'll be better off purchasing Memory Maker to get them. Rides that have photos are : Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, 7 Dwarfs; Test Track; Dinosaur, Expedition Everest; Rockin Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror. 7 Dwarfs and Tower of Terror have a short video that I think you can only get with Memory Maker.
It's easy to spot photographers throughout the parks, especially in front of icons like the castle, tree, Epcot ball, etc. but they are also throughout the parks. I have rarely waited in a line of more than 1 family ahead of us. Main Street in MK may have a line for a certain photographer, but if you walk a few feet down the street, you'll see there are at least 5 along the way you can choose from.
We have gotten some really fun candids during character meet and greets (where you wait in line to meet a character, not character meals). Especially if you tell the photographer that you have MM, they will snap away while you're visiting with the character, hugging, high fives, getting autographs, in addition to the posed "smile and say cheese" moment. I have not seen any other candid photos taken, like photographers just snapping a picture of you during parade viewing and scanning your band to add it to your account or anything like that.
