Memory Maker

I've not read anything about Memory Maker, is it just the same as Fastpass+ ?

Exactly the same as Photopass, except you don't get a CD, it is digital downloads. I love the fact that you can share it.

OP, we had it for our trip last month and it is good but I would strongly suggest you keep checking every now and again to see if all the photos you expect to see are there.

Also, I don't know if it is just me but I cannot see the photos my daughter has added borders to on her account and vice versa, meaning we have had to download them separately. So I would advise you to just use one account to edit the pictures.

Memory maker is a photo package. It has nothing to do with Fastpass+

You pay $150 and you get digital copies of ride photos and photos taken of you by Disney's photographers in the parks.

The Disney photographers can also take 'magic' pictures of you. This is where they digitally add disney characters to your pictures.

I've purchased it because we would like pictures of us all together. I'd have got a few ride photos as well so it's worth it for us.

Reviews are generally quite mixed though. A lot of people have said that the Disney photographers aren't very good and a lot of the shots aren't great.

I found this video on youtube that shows the types of images you get and the quality you can expect.

Quality of photos does vary but we got a huge amount in two weeks and a few were superb

Some are a bit lazy but on the whole i found the photographers very good.

A tip is if your photos get lost, disney photopass people can still find them

Please give me the Memory Maker 101. If I purchase it, does it include everyone linked to my MDE or do we have to purchase it individually?

Deb, everyone who is linked with you will be able to use the one Memory Maker and see your photos as long as you set the permissions accordingly on MDE. I have read before that only the main holder of the MM is able to scan their band but both Sian and I were able to scan our MagicBands to get our ride, character and other photos added so I can only assume this would work for everybody linked under the MDE. As far as editing the photos afterwards, as I said above, the only issue we had with that is that Sian did hers by logging in to her account and I did mine by logging into mine and, therefore, we cannot see each others changes. That is not a major problem, though, but does mean that we have several duplicated (non-edited) photos as we had to download photos from both accounts.

I'm still confused. Does it work like the old PhotoPass? Do we all get cards from the park photographers and link to the account I pay for? You talk about your account and Sian's account. Did you pay separately? I need an Idiot's Guide!

Oh, okay, I get it. It does include everyone in our party. I think I'll go for it.

When I talk about my account and Sian's account, I am talking about our logins for MDE and Disney. When you view and edit the photos, you go in to www.mydisneyphotopass.com and we both used our own logins to edit the pictures attached to the same Memory Maker. Does that make sense?

There will be no need for cards from the photographers if you all have MagicBands as he/she will just scan the band. For ride photos, you just go to where you would purchase the photo with your number and they will have you scan your MagicBand and add it to your MM.

I've just ordered memory maker for our trip next Thursday.

This is the first time we have used it but seeing as it will be our honeymoon I thought it might be worth while.

I have printed the confirmation with the bar code on it but don't really understand how it works. I go to the will call window to pick up a card? How does this then get transferred to my magic band?

I just bought MM for our trip in Oct. I called to make sure it was done right and the guy said that everyone that is in my friends and family list can use their MB for photos etc I (being the main one) can download them. I went with the usps delivery since our trip is not until Oct I am wondering do they mail cards just for me or is it everyone in my friends and family list?

:dance3: :moped:

Cheers, Joh. That makes sense now. It takes me a while to get my noodle around things these days! :teeth:

Did you order it through My Disney Experience? If so, it will already be linked, no need to collect anything or do anything else. If you didn't buy it through MDE then enter the confirmation number against the 'Link Memory Maker' section on MDE and you will be ready to go.

I am so tempted to get the memory maker. Am I right in thinking it will last the duration of our holiday? (18days)

Thanks

OK, so do you have a physical plastic Memory maker card or a confirmation number. If you havevthe physical card then you are good to go. You just need to hand this to the photographer whenever you have photographs taken (or to the CM behind the desk to get the ride photos added). If you have a confirmation number only, when you first visit a Disney park, take the number to Guest Relations (situated inside the entrance to each of the parks) and they will give you the Memory maker card, which you will then use as above.

To view and edit your photos, you go to the website www.mydisneyphotopass.com and you will be able to view your photos by entering your Memory Maker number and registering on the site. You have 60 days from the date each picture was taken, in which to view, edit and download the photos.
