Memory Maker........

During character meets do the Photopass people automatically take pictures of each person, or do you need to give them your Photopass card first? We aren't buying MM - I don't have to actually DO anything in the parks other than keep track of any Photopass cards I get in order to be able to view all our PP pics once we're home, right?

The PhotoPass photographers take pictures of every person who meets the characters. They'll either give you a card if you don't already have one, or you can give them one that you have. All you have to do to view your pictures is enter the card numbers when you get home.

If you get photo pass instead of mm, can you still order the cd? That's what I've done the last two trips. I never buy the ride photos. What's the difference in prices for photo pass and mm?

PhotoPass is the picture taking service. If you're talking about the PhotoPass CD that you can pre-order, that's still available. (It's now called the PhotoPass Archive CD.) It's $119 versus $149 to pre-order MM.

Here's the link for the CD:

For me getting the ride photos was the best part of the deal. I wouldn't be able to get those shots on my own. I also like the way I can customize the photos on the site.

Here is my question on MM:

We have two reservations which are linked together. (I can make Fastpasses for my Mom on her reservation at the same time I can do mine for example.)

My Mom bought the MM. Since our reservations are linked, will the MM be linked to everyone's Magic Bands?

Yes.. but only your mom can do the "downloading" but everyone linked to her can have picture taken and it will show up on her account.

Thank you!!

I added mm to our package. I didn't get a card in the mail or a confirmation number. It says my mm is linked on mde website. What do I have to do now to ensure everyone in my party can get their magic bands scanned and show up on our mm? Is it automatically taken care of? Everyone is still talking about cards a lot...so I need those still?

I'm in the same boat... no email confirmation with confirmation number, nothing in the mail, but even worse it doesn't show up on MDE either. I checked on https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/ under Orders--no record of any order. My Disney Visa was charged though. No CS on Sunday--add this to the countless hours of my life lost to Disney's website/customer "service".

We have the same problem as well. Our reservation shows that we have the MM package but l can't link it. l don't know if we get a card when we get everything from our travel agent or not.

....Is it worth it???? How much do you normally use it??I am really torn. On one hand It will be nice to have family pictures without finding someone to help us. On the other hand, I'm afraid it will be a waste of $150

We used PP+ (same in most respects) and found it well worth it to us. Between attraction pics, pics in front of landmarks, various dining pics, etc. we got our money's worth. Now that with MM everyone in your friends and family list can scan their bands to add pics (rather than receiving only one card that had to be scanned), we figure we'll get even more out of it. :)

I really liked having Memory Maker. But I can't decide if it was "worth it." We ended up with over 200 pictures from our 6 day trip. I think it was actually closer to 300. And almost all of them are great pictures. I especially liked getting ride photos, because we've never done that before. We definitely took the time to make sure we got a lot of pictures out of it. We did a lot of character greetings and stopped whenever we saw a photographer.

But honestly, if we didn't have memory maker, it's not like we would have bought the pictures from photopass. We've alway used the photopass photographers, because we like to look at the pictures afterwards, and because we have them take pictures with our cameras. So it's not like we saved any money with it, we just spent $150 that we don't typically spend.

So yes, we liked it and don't regret buying it, but I haven't decided if it's worth it, so I don't know if we'll do it again.

It's tied to your reservation so when you link your reservation your mm is attached to the primary guest on your reservation.

So, PhotoPass CD (which is $129 in advance) is worth it if you would normally buy 9 or more PhotoPass photo downloads ($15 each). MM is worth it ($20 more than PhotoPass CD) if the addition dining and ride photos are worth $20 to you. For me, it is well worth both -- they are much better photos than I would take with my phone (and no I'm not going to carry a DSLR around WDW), and they re nice because they are of the whole family which you can't take on your own very easily. That said, PhotoPass+ was a better deal since you kept the actual dining photos (which is silly you don't get to since they already printed them and are just going to throw them away). We hit all the character dining so saved more than the price of the pass on that alone.

UPDATED: So, after spending a good hour and a half emailing, on hold, and getting the run around, here is the deal with MM orders placed online on https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/ or https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/ (MDE):
  • CM confirmed they are aware of issue where orders placed online are not receiving email confirmation -- she cautioned that while they are aware of this, it may not be fixed soon. As a result, make sure to print your order confirmation online or write down you order number.
  • Note, MM is not technically ordered through PhotoPass (even if you order it from the PhotoPass website), so it will not show up under Orders on PhotoPass website. Also, because it isn't ordered through PhotoPass, you must contact WDW ticketing not PhotoPass to get order confirmation if you didn't print it out or write it down.
  • Also note, if you order MM online, it will not automatically show up on MDE. It only shows up if you ordered MM as part of your resort reservation
  • If you didn't print or write down you order number, you can contact Ticketing services at ‪‪407-566-4985‬‬ option 5 to get the confirmation# for your order. Note, contrary to what I was told you can use the 12-digit order number (4 letters, 8 numbers) to link MM to MDE (it accepts your order number or card number)
  • Just to reiterate, you will not get an email confirmation or have any online order history, so be sure to print or write down your order number as this is the only confirmation you will get.
  • I received my card today by mail after 7 days, so if you did order online and you don't receive your card in 7-10 days (or before your trip), call Ticketing services at ‪‪407-566-4985‬‬ option 5 to get your confirmation number which you can use to link MM to MDE (I actually did this so know it works)
Good luck!

I was just able to get mine to link by doing the following:

I selected 'will call' as my option and then after purchasing I wrote down the confirmation that popped up on the screen.

I was waiting for the email confirmation, but never received it.

I then linked MM using the above confirmation. It asked me who to link it to - I chose myself and then it linked me to MM and put a different confirmation number under the link - I'm guessing it's the 'will call' number?

I saw just now about the bug with the email confirmation - if I saw that earlier I probably would gave held off purchasing until it was fixed - but what I did seemed to work!

Good luck all!

Sorry, after posting this I figured out the Order Confirmation Number actually works to link MM to MDE (I just happened to click on the Link button and saw where it says enter order number or card number), so it shouldn't be necessary to order Will Call unless you are visiting WDW within less than 14 days and want the actual card (although this is not needed if you link order confirmation number to MDE). I updated my post above. Note, the CM said the issue was known but may not be fixed any time soon (I took it to mean in development terms this was being considered for a future software update, but that the way it worked now was by design despite being suboptimal). So, best advice now that I know this is order online but make sure to print/write down you order confirmation number which can be used to link MM to MDE, or if you already ordered, call Ticketing services at 407-566-4985 option 5 to get order confirmation number. Sorry for the confusion.:headache:

I have MM and am offsite - so no magic bands. It is linked to my MDE. Do I have to go pick up a card somewhere? Can I get this at any of the photo counters or do I have to go to guest services? Thanks!

When did you order it? You should have a card sent to you. The main benefit of memory maker over photopass+, IMO, is that you don't have to pick anything up in the park.

I successfully linked my MM to my MDE account. Now I want to invite my family members who are traveling with me to my MM account. I sent the invitation to their email, but when I went to my son's email to try accepting it for him, it keeps coming up as an error. SO ANNOYING! Has this happened to anyone else? If so, any advice? Am I doing something wrong? :confused3 Thank you! :)

So is it the case that:

* If I have MM on my account.
* I am the entitlement holder

A) I do not need to carry a Entitlement card. I can link ride photos via my MB.

* My brother's family is linked to mine as friend and family

B) He can link RIDE photos to his band, with not having MM, not being the entitlement holder, and not having anything linked to his MB other than his MDE account being linked to mine, which does have MM.

The Disney material suggests only the entitlement holder can link a ride or dining photo, and suggests that if a non-entitlement holder takes a ride photo, the entitlement holder would have to double back, revisit their ride counter, and be the one to add the ride pic. Is this not the case, altho Disney states it that way?

The downloading is not an issue. I'll download them all, no biggie.

Yeah. The mm entitlement needs to be linked to download, but anyone that's part of your traveling party can collect photos including dining and ride photos. You don't need to add them yourself.
