Memory Maker: What do I do with this card I received?

I purchased the Memory Maker twice before: once in late 2013 when it was still called Photopass, and then last spring. The first time I got a card and a lanyard and had to hand that to the photographer every time we had a picture taken. Last spring I got nothing and just used my Magic Band (and was pretty disappointed with the quality of the pictures that time around). This time I ordered it again online and it's showing up in my MDE account but then I just got this Memory Maker card in the mail.

So do I use this card to hand to the photographers or do I link the card right now and just use my Magic Band during our trip? It would be nice to use the card because then the photographers will know I've already forked over $160 and might take better pictures for me, but then there's always the fear of losing it too.

I called the Photopass people and they said that cards are being mailed out accidentally and that I don't need it. I'm taking it with me just in case and I'm going to check my pictures throughout my trip to make sure they're showing up. I'd hate to hand them the card and not have it linked, or hand them my Magic Band and have that not linked either!

I doubt the card is being sent out accidentally; I assume it's being sent out because not everyone stays on property and therefore wouldn't have a Magic Band. By the way, Memory Maker replaced a product called the PhotoPass+ CD; PhotoPass is the photo-taking service, which obviously hasn't been replaced.

I got the got card, but since i linked MM to MDE account, I didn't use it (i did bring it with me just in case). I just used my magicband.

I tried linking the card to my MDE account but it said it was already linked to an account. So I guess it got linked before it was shipped and now I'm just getting the physical card. I'll use my magic band like I did last time.

I would definitely keep the card with me in the park in case of loss of link with MDE (easier for CMs to troubleshoot). We also checked our Memory Maker account each day to make sure the shots taken that particular day were linked to the account; this made it much easier for CMs to find missing photos if there happened to be any.
