If you have the memory maker, how do you get the ride photo's on it? Back when it was Photopass, if a ride participated you swiped your card at the ride to add it to your account. Is it the same? And what rides participate now? Thanks!

BTW, how much is the Memory Maker? I assume it has completely replaced Photpass, right?

You will need to remember the number that corresponds with your photo, then a CM will scan your MB. That's pretty much it.

Attractions

Okay, I was asking for a friend (I'm not going until Nov) but now I am confused for myself! LOL!

What exactly IS Memory Maker? Can I still do the old Photopass CD thing or THAT is what Memory Maker is?

Does Memory Maker have more "stuff" to it than the Photopass did? Photopass got you pics with the roving photographers, some rides and some meals. Is this the Memory Maker?

And it scans your MB now instead of the laminated card you used to get?

What is the number you have to remember?

Anyone think it's worth the price if my daughter is beyond character meet and greets but won't go on 5-6 of the above rides? Do you have the opportunity to have good pictures taken elsewhere?

Actually, what you're describing is the PhotoPass + CD, which as I said before, is what Memory Maker has replaced.

There are other places to get pictures taken besides at meet and greets, but if you don't want ride photos, you can get the PhotoPass Archive CD for $119, which doesn't include ride and dining photos, here.

Photopass is the service at Disney where they take your photo at different locations or with characters. Photopass + (ride, meal photos and all photopass photos on a CD plus a CD of stock images) has been replaced by Memory Maker (ride, meal and photopass photos - no CD, digital download only).

You can still purchase the photopass CD (stock CD is extra) but it doesn't come with the ride photos. Or you can use photopass and buy the individual shots that you want. There is even an Attractions package that you can purchase at the parks that lets you have JUST your ride photos. Many options.

And yes, now you can scan your magic band instead of the photopass card. Or you can collect photopass cards like you did before. And yes, with Memory Maker they do send you a photopass card that you can use.

Why the hey can't you get a CD with it? So if I get the MM, I get home, play with the pics (adding borders etc..online) then how do I "get" them? I used to do all that, get the CD and take it wherever I wanted my pics done. Now what do I do?

Now, instead of getting the CD, you download the pics to your computer. Then, if you want any printed, you can upload them to your favorite picture printing option, store or mail order.

I think the point of not sending out the CD, was either to save money or make it quicker for people to get their pics :goodvibes

I think the main reason is that fewer and fewer people have computers with a place for CDs anymore.

That's a good point! I was thinking it was too bad it didn't come with the cd anymore until I read your post and realized that both DH and I just got new laptops with no cd player. :rotfl: The downside is, our internet is pretty slow because we live on the edge of town by the cow field. It could take us a while to download, but I guess it would be ok. I may even put them all on a flash drive, take them to Costco and just print one out of each in order to have a hard copy too. Sometimes I worry about things existing in just digital format.

We are travelling with my sister and her family, and my mom. I have linked our reservations, does this mean that any photos taken of anyone will go to one account or would each travel group have to purchase the memory maker package? $149 sounds reasonable when split 3 ways, but if each of us have to purchase that would be $450!! There will be 9 all together but 3 separate reservations linked on MDE

As long as they are with you, you can have yr magic band scanned To get their ride pictures. If they are not with you, make sure they put the photos in a photo card so you can link it with your MM account. Hope this helps.

I have a slow connection as well. Was going to download them at work as it will take a fraction of the time!

I've never used Photopass or Memory Maker but I will be using Memory Maker this September since I got it for free. I know you can scan your Magic Band at the rides to get the picture added to your account, but can you also scan your MB at the random locations where you get your picture taken throughout the parks? Or do you get a card for those ones?

PP Photographers all around the park have a little device they use to scan your Magic Bands - when I used my Memory Maker last week I never got any cards! Everywhere I took pictures, like in front of the castle and meeting characters, they were able to scan my band in 2 seconds and I was on my way! :yay:
