we are spending 5 days on Disney, planning to get mm.

After the 5 days we are renting a house to relax, and do bush, aquatics, etc. during our week at the house we plan to do a few Disney things; pirates and pals, and Bibbidi Bibbidi boutique at downtown Disney.

My question is, is the mm only good while I'm staying onsite? Or can I use it when I'm offsite as well if I have my magic bands?

It's not tied to your resort reservation.

MM simply entitles you to digital downloads of pictures that show up in your Photopass account. It doesn't care when/where they are taken, if they are of you, if they are of your family/friends, etc. Whatever shows up can be downloaded within the expiration windows of the pictures and MM.
