Hello! We have purchased memory maker for our last several trips, but when I logged into the Disney app today to buy it, it shows that it’s $279 CAD?!?? That’s WAY more than we purchased it for on previous trips, but also, I thought it was cheaper if we bought it at least several days before arriving? Our check in is August 19th! Is this the new standard price??

Thanks!
Cheryl

I just bought it last week at the advance purchase price. It was kinda hard to find the link to the advance purchase price. Definitely had to use the website not the app and had to search around. I paid the $160US. That CAD price is nutty. They must be converting the full 199US price but still that is a high looking conversion rate.

Yeah, I definitely hit my tipping point on that price while booking our May trip. I feel like with just about everything in the parks, Disney is testing just how far they can push prices before people balk. Almost $300CAD for a bunch of (lets face it - unflatterring) pics of us sweating in the parks was too rich for me :P I have a killer camera on my Pixel phone, and a bunch of nice lenses from Moment. We did a "selfie series" instead and took all our own pics in front of landmarks, statues, etc... then downloaded just a couple of fun ride photos.

I was just about to post about this! In the MDE app, the prices for Memory Maker are offered are in Canadian dollars, and there is no "advance purchase" price, and the prices are much high than if you paid the US dollar prices:
U.S. advance purchase price: $169.00 USD ($217.69 CAD)
U.S. full price: $199.00 USD ($256.33 CAD); Canadian MDE price: $279.99
U.S. one-day price: $69.00 USD ($88.88 CAD); Canadian MDE price: $99.99
This is pretty uncool.

Exactly!!! I swear I had seen it lower, but I was just going to use the app for convenience! I will log into the full website and pre purchase at the $169 US price! It will be way cheaper!!! 👍🏻

Thanks!

Thank-you! I swear I had seen it lower somewhere! Will definitely purchase on the website instead of the app!!

One thing to remember. You can get the pictures taken without memory maker. You can then do things like get calendars or photo books made with the pictures. Calendars are $25 US and I think photo books are around $30?

We have done this several times. Way less then memory maker and we get our favourite photos
Interesting, so you can purchase photo books or calendars directly from Photopass?

I did not know about these options, a book for $30 would have been great. Would totally have done that instead of the photopass but oh well it's bought now.

Pretty sure I paid $99 for memory make in 2019 and now it's $199 (well $169) still bought it but wow prices are up and the exchange is a killer. Headed down for Canadian Thanksgiving for a 5 night stay and for our family of 4:

Tickets ($3,500) for 3 days of park tickets and 1 night of Mickey's halloween party
Airfare ($3,000) for airfare from Ottawa to Orlando

and we are at $6,500 CDN, just to get there and be allowed in the parks!

I pre-purchased it at $169 USD in both 2017 and 2020. Didn’t get to use it in 2020 and still have one credit of use on my account.
