Trying to decide how others are handling this. My DD17/myself going on our last "hurrah" trip before her senior year hopefully starts. Had it planned for a year, wanted to get some good pictures of us, and with her class of 2021 mouse ears. What's everyone doing in July/August about memory maker? I know it's gonna be different.

We have APs, so we get pix anyway... BUT I say yes if there are Photopass photographers.

Document your trip and everything else about her Senior year during this crazy time. Your daughter can show the pix to her children and grandchildren. A local shop does unique things on their sign. It said “Congratulations Class of 2020... you’ll have a story to tell!” Class of 2021 (and everyone else) will, too!

I love Memory Maker, that is the ultimate "souvenir." But, I can't see getting it with having to wear masks. We will probably take a selfie or 2 with our masks on just to remember the time we did Disney with masks, but that's all. It's a lot of money to spend for pictures where you can only see your eyes.

We bought it for our trip. It will document the time, and now CMs are not allowed to handle your phone to take pictures of you. Memory Maker will be our only way to get our entire party without having to be in selfie mode.

I really need to stop reading these threads. Every time I think I know what I am going to do or decide , I read someone valid point of view ... and I am Back in the undecided category. :)
I normally purchase the Memory Maker with my package , and my current September has it, of course it also has Park Hoper , so I am Due a call to make the needed changes. I really would like to keep it, it the points made on here about the value for the spend , and the option of purchasing a few good ones individually at the same cost investment has me thinking . I will keep pondering ... thanks everyone for your thoughts and ideas !

My friends and I had to have this talk as well for our trip in a few weeks. Before the shutdown and changes, we had planned on purchasing MM. I like the ride photos and the good quality pics in front of the castle. However, we couldn’t justify the price tag now that we will all be wearing masks.

We currently have MM - but being just us, DH & DW, in our 60's we thought we may get some nice pictures

If we go to the parks for 5 days - MM may not be worth it

We have 5 photo albums filled with pictures from our 5 past family trips to WDW.
So how many more pictures do we need ?

Our trip would be fly down on a Monday night - Park days would be Tuesday through Saturday and fly hone on Sunday - go back to work on Monday
We can not leave the Sunday or Saturday before our WDW vacation - work issues
Our flight arrives at MCO around 9:30 PM - Monday night
So Monday is a travel day, as well as the Sunday we go home - flight leaves MCO about 2 PM

That makes a 5 day park pass =NO Memory Maker - we will cancel MM when we get closer to our dates.
I'd rather go on a ride, then find a MM photographer :)

Thank you for the poll - got our brains to think twice about MM

I say definitely get it! I bet some of the characters will be wearing masks.....this may be a once in a lifetime situation with mask wearing (🤞🤞🙏🙏😷😷) and what a story it will be! We haven’t gotten MM in years because we have SO MANY of the same pics...this time will be so different and unique!

AGREED!! You can order her a t-shirt - Class of 2021 - to add to the memory. Congrats & much success to her on her Senior Year!!

We canceled our July trip - would have been a graduation celebration for DD who just graduated 8th grade. (Rescheduled for next summer.) I had purchased the Mickey Ears with the graduation cap & had a t-shirt made for her. She was so looking forward to wearing it down Main Street - next summer she will!!

I would just counter it with you never know in 5 years or 20 years which specific photo is a great one to have. You might think that picture in front of the castle is one you should buy now. In 20 years your favorite might be that random picture with Mulan who is no longer in parks.

No right or wrong answer just wanted to put context to why I personally like to keep pictures. I also do not do physical pictures. I have 8 digital picture frames (Google Homes / Nixplay) that automatically upload and curate photos. As an example I have a digital album that automatically adds any pictures of DD1 from our phones, my parents phones, and my wifes parents. This is true of everyone and each trip gets its own digital picture album as well.

Thanks all for your responses!!! Loving all the feedback. I really think we are going to go ahead and get it. As a backstory, my DH and her went to China a few years ago with school for almost a month, and he said it would be nice for her and I to do a trip together. We've had it all planned out for quite some time. We're DVC- so we booked 11 months out, got our flights and tickets. Then COVID hit the world. :( I also scrapbook, so I know I'll love the pics and would like to take some special senior type ones.

Next summer we are going a big graduation/25th wedding anniversary trip to Aulani- so didn't know when we could go again.

We definitely want to document it all!! I scrapbook too, so lots of pics. :)

That's true!! And with just her and I, I want good pics of us together. Asking someone to take a pic with your camera/phone isn't happening now. Used to do it all the time. :(

I've been doing the same!! Second guessing everything for the trip. LOL
