Alright, we arrive on the 30th and I was going to go ahead and purchase Memory Maker in advance (Hey, it's a little cheaper than buying it while we're there).

Now, I need to ask, if I go ahead and buy it, it doesn't activate until we arrive, right? And when we do arrive, how do I activate it?

Okay, cool. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to arrive and find it'd expired between today and our arrival :P

I had the exact same question before our trip in August. :D Have a great trip!

Last time mine didn't activate till I accessed for pictures online for download, 2 days into our trip.

You and the OP are using different definitions of the word activate. The OP is using it to mean "what do I have to do to start using it?" You're using it to mean "when does the clock start for how long I have to do my downloads?"

Memory Maker and Photopass are technically 2 different things. Anyone can take photos and view them online for purchase. Memory Maker is basically just buying unlimited Photopass downloads.

So Photopass is "activated" whenever you take a picture, and Memory Maker is "activated" when you download your first picture.

It will activate when you have your first picture taken.

Not correct. The 30 day timer for Memory Maker downloads will start when you do the first download. You can buy Memory Maker now, and decide you don't like any of the pictures from this trip, not download any of them, and then choose to save it for your next trip. The timer for the expiration of the pictures will start the first time they are taken. So you end up with two different expiration windows to watch, but this means you can use Memory Maker for multiple trips if they are close enough and you time it correctly.

Not correct.

As PP said in quote below, I was interpreting "activate" to mean what needs to be done to start the process of adding photos to your Memory Maker account. There is nothing special that needs to be done to "turn it on," rather this is automatic upon the first picture being taken.
