Was wondering if anyone has purchased the memory maker package that includes a bulk of the pictures from your vacation throughout the parks and at select character meals and on select rides. I was wondering if it was worth the price of $150.

I loved mine from March, best souvenir I could have purchased. I love having pictures with everyone in them, instead of one person behind the camera (usually me!). Plus I didn't have to ask other people to take pictures with our camera. We got some great ones from character meets and at each park. We also got all of our ride photos. I carried my own camera, but didn't have to stress about capturing pictures myself. It's just a point and shoot, so the majority of the memory maker photos were better quality than I could have taken anyway. We jumped in front of every photopass photographer we saw, and ended up with 210 photos over four days. I made a shutterfly photo book when we got back, also sent one to my in-laws who were with us. I wouldn't have purchased any of the photos separately, and I'm so glad I have them. I've already ordered ours for October.

We have purchased for every trip since 2009 (it was photopass then photopass+ and now memory maker). The last couple of trips I have been really disappointed with the photos but always seem to get enough to justify the advance purchase price. Therefore I will continue to purchase although I always have a picture taken with my own camera too just to be safe.

Two trips ago I purchased the regular photopass, which does not include ride pictures. I loved it. I am usually the one taking the pictures, so it was nice to actually be in them. Then last trip we got memory maker. I love that it has all the ride photos. We don't do character meals with pictures, so I can't really say anything about that.

I am super looking forward to our next trip because now the ride pics are automatic with the magic band, you don't have to stop at the counter. I always worried a little about giving my boys the card when I didn't ride.

Here's the thing, you have to be willing to get the pictures. I almost never walk pass a photographer. Okay, I don't stop at EVERY one on main street, since they are usually about every 50 feet or so :) If there is a line, wait, they usually move quickly. And I go at Christmas/New Years, so the lines don't get longer than that. Get pictures in different parks, and different areas around the parks. Also, just because you already have a picture on main street, doesn't mean you shouldn't stop for another. If it's a different day, you are probably wearing different clothes, different angle, etc. Sometimes one shot will come out better than another.

Then when you get home you can edit. They have cool borders and effects, you can add the year. One character shots you can usually add a signature from the character.

For me it is totally worth it, I will get it again every time I go. Besides, $150 is less than some of the meals we are going to. In the bigger scheme of things, at WDW, $150 isn't that much for memories you can keep forever.

PS I also get the star card at Universal.

So I bought memory maker online a week before our trip.. We are here now... The ride photos are showing up but the ones we took on Main Street and in front of the ball at Epcot are not showing up... The scanned my magic band both times.... Is it something I am doing wrong? Is it something else I need to do?? I need it fixed before we lose out on too many more days.

I am a convert to the Memory Maker.

I didn't think it would be worth it but decided to get it for my trip in May with my niece. I am so glad I did! Just the ride photos alone paid for the MM. Then you add on all of the character meet & greets and then the photo pass photographers. We definitely got our money's worth.

And I also made a photo book at Shutterfly. Loved being able to do that!

I was on the fence about it but so glad I did it. Especially for the ride photos! That is something I would never buy normally but I'm so glad that I have them. My sons tried all the "big" rides this time so to have those first photos is priceless..

We are thinking of purchasing the memory maker. My question is we are traveling with another family of three. Can we purchase a memory maker and both of our families use it or do we both need to purchase.

I've been on the fence about purchasing this as well, but think the ride pics may put me over the edge to do it. I know it was mentioned they go on automatically because of the magic bands, but how exactly does that work? I mean, how do they know to your photos on the bands? Does anyone know? Just curious.

Which character meals are included in memory maker? We are dining at tusker house (lunch), 1900 park fare (dinner), Hollywood and vine (breakfast) and garden grill.

You only need to purchase one Memory Maker package. The person who purchases it just needs to add everyone in both families to their Friends and Family list, then those people need to sign in to their MDE account and set photo sharing permissions using the Family & Friends page in their Profile. On their Family & Friends list, they can locate the Guest they want to share photos with and select “Edit” to access the photo sharing control.

When the picture gets taken, your Magic Band is scanned and the picture is added to your account.

I was going to ask which rides had photos, and then I decided to google it. :)

Is this list up to date or are there more?

•Magic Kingdom: Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain
•Epcot: Test Track
•Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Rock ‘n Roller Coaster, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
•Disney’s Animal Kingdom: DINOSAUR, Expedition Everest

Give it a day before you ask for help.. sometimes certain photos just take longer than others to show up...make sure you are looking under the day you took the photo to find images..

I've heard they might be adding photos to more rides, but for now, this is it.

You must go to the ride photo kiosk after you finish the ride and have them scan your band. I saw another thread with someone who was furious because his/her ride photos weren't added onto their bands. He/she thought it just happened automatically I guess.

Also, just thought of this, if you think anyone in your party will do Jedi Training they take a TON of pictures there. They give you a photo pass card that you can then add to you memory maker. We have amazing shots with Lord Vader. :darth:

But it is now happening automatically, I think since the beginning of June.

We got MM for the first time this June and are SO happy we did! It was our first trip with DS (11 months). The pictures we got of this trip were so special -- how wonderful to get all 3 of us in the shots together! Gone are the days where DH and I were content to snap selfies of our faces in front of the castle, etc.

The best part of MM for us was 1 series of pics we got on Main St. We asked a photographer if he could take a pic of DS sitting on the street (it was cooled off by this time) in front of the castle. He gave DS his hat to sit on, and DS *loved* playing with the strings on the hat -- some of the pics looked like he was using it to sleigh ride down Main St! Then the photographer dove face down onto the street to be on his level and took the most precious pics we've ever gotten of our son to date. It would have been worth the $150 to us to get these shots alone!

Over 6 days, without too much effort on our part, we ended up with almost 200 pics. (Only 2 ride photos, and no character meals.) After adding borders, stickers, and resizing at home, I think we have about double that now.

So yes, definitely worth it for our family, and I think we'll always get it from now on. :)
