Memory Maker is confusing

I have been downloading my photos from my recent trip for over two hours and only show one folder downloaded. Obviously something is wrong. I had a different experience the last time (several months ago) when everyhthing downloaded but the zip files took forever to open. In fact, I've never gotten them all opened, just took too long.

What am I doing wrong?

Disney is willing to sell me a thumb drive with all the photos on it (which I did buy the last time as a Christmas gift) but wouldn't it be nice if they just include that in the price of Memory Maker?

Never had an issue. It breaks the photos up into groups of I think a hundred photos. The exact same process if you ever used google takeout to get your photos from Google.

Try using different browsers; in my opinion, Edge tends to be less resource-heavy, especially on Windows. If opening a zip file on your computer takes forever, the issue is likely with your system. Using the built-in "Extract All" function in Windows can be unnecessarily resource-intensive. Instead, try a program like 7-Zip, which doesn’t index the zip contents like Windows does and is very light in zip extraction.

When we went to Disney a few years ago with relatives who purchased Memory Maker, they had the same experience as the OP. Even though they are fairly computer savvy, what they ended up with was a complete mess. I had to help them untangle the jumbled mess of files & duplicate pictures they downloaded. It should NOT require any sort of extra Disney fee to get your pictures. Not sure why their download process seems to be so cumbersome.

I absolutely hate their process for downloading your photos. Did you click "Extract All?"
I followed the steps that were provided. I gave up after fourteen hours. Wrote to Disney and am waiting for them to respond.

To download a group of photos via a desktop or laptop computer :
  • Log into your account
  • Mouse over an unwatermarked image, and select the gray checkmark
  • Scroll down to make sure all photos have loaded
  • Scroll up to select the "Select All Visible Media" button at the top right
  • Select the "Download" button at the top right
  • If you receive a Cogsworth Error, disable pop-up and ad blockers in browser, then attempt again
  • Multiple download windows will pop up; do not close these windows until all downloads have completed
Those multiple download windows filled 1/4 of my screen when I shut down the computer.

How many photos are there?

I always buy memory maker and have never had any issue downloading them. Just select all and then it will download to a zip file that I then unzip and save to make external hard drive. Takes ~30 min maybe if I have a couple hundred photos.
