Can I still get MM if staying offsite?
We will be staying with family for two and a half weeks in August and will be heading to "the world" a few times within that time frame. Though DS is only 4, and not adventurous, so I do not anticipate ride photos, we have a few character meals reserved and would be eager to stop at more disney photographers if I had it.

Yup.

We did it last time when it was still "PhotoPass" and will do it again this time. And we have never stayed on site.
