Memory Maker Help Please:)

I just preordered Memory Maker for our trip next week. Do I have to do anything special with my Family and Friends to make sure their pics are added as well? Will it also pick up their attraction photos?

As long as they are linked in your MDE you should be good! If they are linked and wearing their magicband the attraction photos will automatically be added. Or they can also tap their band/card at the attraction photo station. I believe the ride videos are only added if someone is wearing the linked magicband. Although the photos will pick up for your linked family & friends only you will be able to view the photos through MDE as coordinator of the memory maker account. Hope this helps! As an insurance policy, it's best to tap your band below the ride photo to claim it, just in case.

If any of your family and friends have their own Disney accounts, be sure that you are connected through the MDE. This saves a lot of trouble and potentially lost photos. It also allows your friends and family to view and download the photos associated with their bands.

As a newbie to MM, what does this mean? Is there a place at each ride that has a sign or something where you "tap" your band? What about if they stop somewhere just walking around and have one of those CMs take one?

I assume it's at the end of the ride where you go to view your pictures and make note of the number if you want to buy it (if you don't have MM). If you have your picture taken by a PhotoPass photographer, they'll scan your band.

Yes at the end of each photo ride (with the exception of SDMT), there is a scan terminal similar to the FP+ terminals. Just tap your magic band beneath the picture you want added to your account. For SDMT, I guess you have to trust that Disney got it right. They did get it right for us.
