Can any of you please help me out for a moment and let me know if what I'm calculating makes sense?

I wasn't going to buy MM again, but my mom is coming for the first time and I have feeling she would love to have some cool family shots.

We are going from Dec. 11-21 of this year and again Feb. 18-27.

If I buy MM, I understand that there are time restrictions to downloading and using the service. Can anyone figure out a way to time downloading the photos, etc. in a way that would stretch it across both trips? They are within 75 days of each other if we start December 12 and leave out the last two days in February, and I know that there is a 30 and a 45 day clause to the service, but I'm confused on how that works.

Thanks in advance :)!

It may help.

I have more than 1 trip planned. Can I use Memory Maker on more than 1 trip?

You can take pics for up to 30 days after the first time you download a photo to your account and then Memory Maker photos must be downloaded within 45 days of the first day you download pics (translation: if you time it right, you could get up to 75 days of use out of Memory Maker). You'll most likely just end up using it for 1 trip unless your two trips take place within that 75 day period.

I think your two trips are outside the 30 day new photo window, so I don't think you will be able to do what you want.

Thanks! I saw that article, but that was part of what confused me, as I'm still not clear on the 30 and 45 day difference. Our trips take place within the 75 day period, so somehow it might work? How long do I have to start downloading the photos after the first trip; i.e., can I wait until 30 days after the end of the first trip, download the photos, then add the photos from the second trip up to 30 days later? And where would the 45 days come into play?

I think the wording is confusing you...

You (or the Disney Photopass photographer) have 30 days to UPLOAD NEW photos TO your Memory Maker account. So if you start adding (uploading) photos on December 11th, then you have until January 10th to upload NEW photos. Any photos taken after January 10th will not be uploaded to your account as part of Memory Maker.

If you do have a new photo added (uploaded) to your account, say on January 10th, you will have 45 days (February 24th) to DOWNLOAD it to your computer.

Does that help?

Also, I think the photos expire individually , not as a group. So a photo taken and uploaded on December 11th will expire 45 days from December 11th (January 25th), a photo taken and uploaded on December 12th will expire on January 26th and so on ....

Ooooooh, I think I understand now! So I guess this can only work if you have two trips within a month.

Thanks so much!

No, it can stretch much longer. Also, I think you can make it work to stretch for both of your trips, if you buy the photo extension for the first trip.

Photos are good for 45 days from the date they are taken. MM gives you 30 days to download photos and take additional photos....the times do NOT have to completely overlap. You have to edit and download photos from day 1 before they expire because otherwise they will disappear from the account and not be available to download. HOWEVER, if you wait until day 45 to start downloads, you have 30 ADDITIONAL days to take more pictures and download them. Since your two trips are slightly longer than the 45 days + 30 days, if you buy the two week photo extension before you download any photos it would give you 59 days + 30 days to use the MM entitlement...you just have to wait until the end of the first time frame to start downloads. SO, if you buy the photo extension and start downloads at 55 days from the first day any photos were taken, you have 30 days from THAT POINT to take more photos, edit and download those as well.

I hope that made sense, will be happy to clarify if needed. We used MM last year for 2 trips that spanned 7 weeks from the beginning of the first until the end of the second, so I've done this in the past.

So if I'm understanding correctly, I can start photos December 12, then wait 45 days (or 44 to be safe), then add photos from our February trip spanning up to 30 days later?

Oh, now I have hope again! Lol. Do you happen to know the price of the extension and how to do that? Thank you SO much, it seemed to me like it could be done but then after reading the previous posts it sounded like it wasn't possible.

The option to extend is on the PP website. When you are logged in, click the down arrow by your name at the top and there is an option listed to buy an extension. I don't think it should be available to buy before you have photos in your account, but you have up until that 45 days to purchase an extension. I believe it is 19.95 the last I knew, but I have never bought it because our dates fell just within the time allotted.

if i purchase MM before my trip, and we are attending MNSSHP do I have to purchase the 1 day MM also to get the pictures that we take during party? or are they included on my original MM?

What I usually do is check when the first photo expires (every photo will say in the photopass site), download the day before the day marked just to me safe, and then there is another 30 days after that to download any more photos.

I believe this means that your first photos from 12/11 will expire 1/24 (when you would want to download/activate MM), and then you have until 2/23 to add/download any more photos. My numbers may be off by a day or two. Since your trips from beginning to end covers more than 75 days you will not be able to download photos from every day.

Yep, I think this is where that extension will come in handy!

They are included on the one MM. You don't need to purchase a separate MM to get party pictures.

Thanks for all the info. I have a trip planned sept 9-16 and will be there again for a only a day Oct 18.

I have MM for the sept trip but It sounds like I can use for my day trip in October.

So my question is can I look at my photos while on the trip. Looking at the photos doesn't activate MM correct? Activation is when you actually download the photos correct.

So if I wait until around Oct 7 (29 days after my 1st photo will be take to download the photos then I can have new photos taken on the 18 of October and they will be available to download when I get home?

Thanks
