This is a follow up for my other posts and I have been reading... DD14 is going to WDW with the school band, they will be staying for 4 days on-site. DH, DD and I will be staying offsite for 2 days, I don't see we will be taking a lot of pictures to justify MM. However, I have asked DD14 to get her friends to take lots of photos, and I can use MM to get the photos for her and her friends.

Here is what I plan..
a. create a dummy MDE account, purchase MM using the account.
b. DD14 and her friends will be creating individual MDE accounts (we don't know the ticket numbers nor the reservations), they will be entering their own photopass card numbers to their own MDE account (or is it photopass account?)
c. ***After*** I have confirmed that they have sufficient number of photos, then I linked them to my dummy MDE accounts, I can give them the login and password to edit the photos. They can download it themselves, or I can make a CD for them...

Here are my questions
a. can I link them to my family and friends **after** they come back from the trip and after the photos already showed up in their accounts?
b. if they were to use a photopass card and if they have entered their photopass card number, can I enter the photopass card number to my accounts?

My point is that I don't want to spend $169 if there aren't many photos...and I don't know whether they will take a lot of photos.... Two years ago, I asked my brother and my sister-in-law to take lots of photo as I have a photopass voucher, they took around 10 and I just couldn't justify using a photopass voucher to pay for 10 photos.

A. Yes you can link them after they come back, but I wouldn't try to add more than a certain amount because it will slow down the site.

B. There are no cards anymore except for certain locations so it will be in their MB (that is why you are adding them to your mdx account as family and friends ).

I believe Disney still give out Photopass Cards for people who don't have MagicBand.

On my August trip last year, I stayed off-site for the first week. My family went to Typhoon Lagoon and was given the photopass waistband from the photographer. I simply added the card numbers to my photopass account with Memory Maker. However, for the attraction photos and videos, you will need to have the family and friends MDE links.

thank for the clarification.
I have more questions as the last time I went was pre photopass+ age... :-(

I have created a MDE account for DD and she asked some of her friends to create theirs. As they did not make the reservation, do not have the tickets until each morning and do not have MB before the trip, therefore their MDE accounts do not have anything.

a. Does it mean that WDW will give a MB to each kid upon checks in?
b. Should they go to the resort front desk to ask them to link the MB to their MDE accounts?
c. Given their tickets would be given to them each morning, I suspect their tickets would not be linked to their MB, true?
d. If (c) were true, how can the photopass pictures and rides pictures be associated to their MB? (does it mean that they would have to use photopass card?)

thanks

I don't know much about Photopass or Memory Maker, but I do know about groups, as I am a tour director for bands and choirs. In fact, I am writing this from Pop Century, where I am with a band from Texas, and I will be back at ASM next week with a band from Indiana!

Our company DOES give the ticket numbers to our clients 30 days in advance, so that they can make FP+ reservations. We assign specific tickets to each individual, and email the spreadsheet to the group members. They do not recieve the actual RFID tickets until arrival.

Yes, when a group is staying onsite, you would think that should be 60 days, but not so fast. They will receive MBs as Disney resort guests. HOWEVER, right now it is not possible for group bookings to tie their resort reservations to their MDX. Well, it IS possible, but it would require all kinds of convoluted combinations of MDX accounts and room assignments. Right now it's just not worth it.

So groups walk around with MBs as their room keys, and RFID cards as their park passes. Of course they can still use MDX to book FP+, which will be tied to their RFID card park pass, NOT their MB.

Our company is hoping that the system will change by next spring to allow group guests to be treated the same as any other Disney resort guests.

I guess they could use park tickets to store their photos. This last trip at two different park I heard the photographer said they didn't have the cards anymore. If they store the pictures in their park ticket and that is connect to the mdx where the tickets are in theory it should work, but I never done it this way. Also I remeber reading somewhere the permission for minors on mdx is different and I am not sure they can share the pictures. The only way I have done it with minors (exchange student and family) I managed their profile so they didn't have their own mdx. This is something I would check into further before you purchase the mm.
