Memory Maker and Character dining

I understand that only some character meals provide a photopass photographer to take shots (which would link to memory maker) what I'm wondering is, for the restaurants that do, is it just one posed shot when you first enter the restaurant, or are all the character interactions around the restaurant photographed? Or is it completely random?
For those who have done it, how many photopass shots of the characters did you get? Or were the majority taken yourself? I ask because it will just be DH and myself going, and it would be worth the $$ if a CM was taking the shots, but too much hassle to keep passing off our phone for pics.

It's just the posed shot outside the restaurant. If you want PhotoPass shots with the characters, you would need to do the meet and greets.

For example, CRT has one photopass person that takes your picture with Cinderella prior to the meal (they took one with just our children, and one of the whole family). When you meet all of the other princesses at the actual meal, you have to take your own pictures with your own camera. There are no Photopass photographers in the meal venue itself. Same with Chef Mickey's, though the pre-meal picture is just with a statue of Mickey with a fruit salad and a big plate, not a real Mickey character. There are no photopass photographers to capture pics with all of the characters you meet during the meal.

At the 'Ohana breakfast, there is also a Photopass photographer to take your picture with Stitch. The other characters during that meal (Lilo, Mickey, Pluto), you'll need to take your own photos with your own camera.

I just wanted to clarify on the above poster - it's 1 photo per 4 people at CRT and Akershus. So if you have 5 in your party you'd get two photos. If you have four or less you'd have to decide what configuration you want.

Our family of 4 got several MM photos from meeting Cinderella at CRT. When they used to do the actual photo they handed out it was the way you described, but now since they don't give you an actual photo and it's all just MM, you just get all the photos they take if you have a MM account.

As PP mentioned 'Ohana breakfast has a photographer walking around during the meal to take a picture of your party with Stitch. When we ate there in December they had done away with the photo opportunity outside of the restaurant. The previous December it was still offered.

Thanks for the clarifications! This is great information. Has anyone been recently to Akershus? Who are the princesses? Is it consistent, or does Disney vary which are present?
