Memories that will live on forever! Oct. 17-24, 2010-UPDATED 10/7/11 and New TR Link

Hi Just found your report and have enjoyed the introductory words and photos, so subbing and will return to read later as my way too short lunch break is over!

Welcome! Thanks for joining in!

What a nice "break" day you all had. (well, except for the raccoon:eek:) Too cute about Erin thinking the sunscreen tasted salty:lmao:! Ice cream for supper sounds like a good vacation dinner to me.

We had so much fun. It was nice to have a day where we weren't in a rush to do anything.

Erin's face was just priceless when she discovered that the nasty taste was coming from the water. I think I could taste the saltiness on my lips for at least two days after we were there.

The ice cream supper was one of my favorite meals of the week! I had a hot fudge and peanut butter sundae and it was very tasty!

What a great day! I'm glad your girls were able to see the beach for the 1st time. You got some really good pictures of them at the beach. What did they think about the beach?

Seeing a raccoon in the daylight would freak me out! Seeing a raccoon in the daylight that close to me would REALLY freak me out!!! :scared1:
I'm glad it ran away.

Can't wait to read more.

It was so much fun to do something a little different. They loved to have a little freedom and just be able to run. They really enjoyed the beach, but they didn't like how the sand seemed to settle on every surface of their body! It didn't help that I wouldn't let them go back to rinse off!

I was so thankful that the raccoon ran away. I have a feeling if I took the time to turn around it would have been back. It was a crazy situation.

On Friday it was time to head to Hollywood Studios. We decided that we would try today without a stroller for Ava. It ended up working out and it was so liberating! We headed out at about 7:45 and ended up being some of the first people at the turnstyles. We like to get there early so we can be at the front of the pack for Toy Story Mania!

While we were waiting to enter a CM put up a sign saying that Rock N Roller Coaster was going to be closed. Stu and Erin were pretty bummed to hear this because Erin would be tall enough to ride this time. About five minutes later the CM came back and took the sign down, so we weren't sure what was going on.

Soon we made our way to the rope. All of the CMs were explaining that Rock N Roller Coaster was down, but they hoped to have it up and running at some point. When the rope drop finally happened we headed with the masses straight to TSM. We went directly into the line and we were some of the first people to ride. I was even able to grab a couple of pictures in line without people in them!

After our ride we decided that Stu would grab us a FP for TSM while the girls and I started making our way toward ToT. He quickly caught up to us and our FP time was 12:15-1:15. Not too bad considering we had rode TSM first.

We arrived at ToT and brought Ava up to be measured. She made the cut! It was time for Ava to conquer Tower of Terror! We made our way through the line and there was a boy that was about 8 with his dad. He started talking to us about his trip to Islands of Adventure with his dad and about the rides that he had gone on. He also talked to Ava and told her ToT was his favorite ride at Disney, so he was sure that she would love it too. He was so cute and Ava really took a shine to him. Before we knew it we were at the front of the line. The CM measured Ava again and thankfully we didn't have any trouble like we did at Test Track.

Before we knew it the ride was over. Stu and I both turned to Ava and she had a look on her face that was priceless. She just sat there without a sound, slowly shaking her head no. We were so proud that she gave it a chance!:worship: We had to get a picture of her in front of the ride to document to moment!

Since the coaster still wasn't up we decided to head to the other side of the park. On the way we caught a little bit of the Disney Rocks show.

We decided to ride the Great Movie Ride. I was surprised that we ended up waiting for about 20 minutes. It was fun because we saw the cowboy scene for the first time instead of the gangster scene.

On the way to Muppet 3-D we made a stop into the Writers Stop. What a cute little shop this is! We took a little break and indulged in a coffee and a carrot cake cookie. You definitely need a coffee to go along with this sweet treat. Yum!

At Muppet 3-D Erin decided it was time for her to take some photos!

After the Muppet movie we did a little exploring and came across Lightning McQueen and Mater. I knew that they were back there, but for whatever reason we had never seen them there. The girls decided that they better have their picture with them.

Stu decided that he wanted to check if RnRc was up yet, so I took the girls to meet Mike and Sully. The CM said he would take a picture using our camera, but he only took one and it was not good. Oh well.

Up next: Erin's photo tour of the Backstage Tour

I could have sworn I was subscribed to your thread, but I just realized today I wasn't.:confused3 Great HS update! I love that you got TSM pictures with noone in them:thumbsup2 I love the Writer's Stop too. Such a quaint little place (and they have awesome cupcakes.)

I am glad that you found your way back here! I was so excited to get those pictures at TSM, but I didn't have a lot of time to make sure they were good. I didn't want to hold up the line while I tried to get Mr. Potato Head to not have scary looking eyes!

The Writer's Stop was a neat hidden gem. I really wanted to get there for the carrot cookie because Stu's grandma made them when he was a kid. Nobody has ever been able to replicate them because she never really had a recipe. He said this cookie wasn't quite the same, but he still enjoyed it.

Good job, Ava!
Nice picture, too.
It kind of looks like Dad is down on the ground a little taking this.
Hmmmm....that's the very thing Jill makes fun of me about!
I'll have to send her over here to take a look. :thumbsup2

Stu was on the ground for this one and in the middle of the street no less! We will have to start a club for those willing to do anything for a good picture.:goodvibes

Wow, Ava rode Tower of Terror!:thumbsup2. Noah said no way. He is NOT a thrill seeker.

Hope RnRc opened up later for Erin's first ride!

I can just picture it now with Ava sitting there just shaking her head. Priceless. Good for her though that she went through with it! :thumbsup2

I remember it was so nice when we were past 'the stroller stage'. I did miss not having something to hold all our stuff though.

The girls look cute, as usual! I love their headbands.

That is awesome y'all were able to get TSM FP's for 12:15 after you rode. :yay: Yay for Ava riding ToT!!!!!!!!!

I don't think Ava knew what she was in for! She wanted to ride anything they would let her on because that means she is "big." That is a very big deal to her since she has always been a tiny might.

It was so funny. It was like she was trying to clear the whole experience from her mind! I was very proud of her that she tried it.

I totally agree with you about missing the stroller for storage! I didn't realize how often I used it until it wasn't there.

Thanks! They had been anxiously waiting to wear their headbands all week and then I think they only wore them until we entered the park!:confused3

I was really happy with the return time on our TSM FP. You hear such horror stories about how quickly they run out, so I was happy that we would have a chance to ride two times with a minimal wait.

Hi, I'm back, I got a chance to read through your whole report tonight and it was great!:thumbsup2

Your girls are so cute, and some of their facial expressions in the photo's (like the one of ava in the corner of the Epcot opening photo and Erin with Goofy comparing teeth!) are absolutely priceless!

I'm sure it was great getting the whole family onto your favourite rides and :woohoo: for no stroller!

Looking forward to reading more!:wizard:

DHS is the first park we went stroller free in too. It always seemed a little tight in there for a stroller for me.

Ava was very brave for riding TOT! I was so scared the first time I almost threw up. I chickened out in Oct. and didn't ride but I guess I'll have to woman up in June and ride because River loves it.

We did the Writers stop too. The cm there gave River the phone and it was Goofy singing happy birthday to him. Its a very cute store.

Did you get to ride RNRC? We were there the day before you and it was running.

Erin is quite the photographer I can't wait to see her pictures.

Hi! I am here and just got caught up! I am always looking for TR that went in October. We are taking DS for his first trip next october and he will be 2.

Thanks! I love when I am able to capture those moments on camera. I had no idea how excited Ava was that morning until I saw the picture.

It really was fun to enjoy the rides as a family. I can't wait until Ava gains about 8 more inches. It will be many years at the rate she is going. She is such a peanut!

Ava did really well without a stroller at DHS. I wouldn't dream of trying it at Epcot, but DHS was just right.

I was very proud that she tried ToT. I think it helped that she didn't know what she was in for.

Writers Stop was a fun find. It is one of those places that you could forget where you were at if weren't for all of the Disney merchandise!

I'm not sure what was up with RnRc. Every time we checked on it they made it sound like it could be back up at any moment.

Erin went nuts with her camera on the Backstage Lot. I have plenty of pictures to share.

Hi! I am here and just got caught up! I am always looking for TR that went in October. We are taking DS for his first trip next october and he will be 2.

Welcome! You will have a great time in October. The crowd size is managable and the weather has been great both times we were there in October. That is so exciting that it will be your DS's first trip. The link to my other trip report was from our October 2009 trip. Ava had turned 3 just a couple of weeks before the trip.

One of the fabulous things about an October trip is the weather. :thumbsup2

Tell Erin and Ava to check out their picture (from afar) with Alice. I just put it up on the TR.

I am so excited! I know we have over a year but I am already planning. Trying to decide where to eat. I am going to check out your other TR also. Can't wait to hear more!

The beach looks like so much fun! And ice cream for dinner...yum. Good job to Ava for riding ToT. Bella will be 6 when we go and is still scared of it...I would be surprised if she rides it. And we are not taking a stroller this time, either. Glad to hear it went well for you!

Yay to Ava for riding ToT! She is a big girl! What a bummer about RnRc though. I agree that the Writer's Stop is fabulous. I've been there a couple times and enjoyed my treats each time. :thumbsup2
