I am interested in doing a vow renewal in 2014:cool1: a long way aways but I want to start figuring our budget and if it is possible for our 5 year anniversary or be put off until our 10 year anniversary. We have so far been torn between DCL and the Memories Package at Disney World.

One question for the memories package is photography can it be added onto like say to do the package that includes MK shoot and another park? :confused3

Can we bring our kids to the photo session in the parks since we do not have a sitter for them? :confused3 I will have park passes.

Do we need park passes for the photo shoots in the park?:confused3

The one hour included photo package is that just of the ceremony or can we do pictures with our children afterwards? :confused3 It will only be us and our children at the ceremony.

Can someone give me any information on how their wedding / vow renewal was for the memories package? I have only seen escape weddings. :confused3

Thank you!!!

Yes, you can add bridal portrait sessions, including those in the MK and other parks.

No, the photo shoot is for the couple only. You could look into Kids Nite Out, the in-room babysitting service provided at the Disney resorts.

Do we need park passes for the photo shoots in the park?

It depends. The bridal portrait sessions are done before park opening and do not require park admission. The various honeymoon and engagement portrait sessions are done during regular park hours and require admission.

The ceremony only lasts a few minutes, so the hour of photography is mostly for portraits around the ceremony site, before and after.

Can someone give me any information on how their wedding / vow renewal was for the memories package? I have only seen escape weddings.

Hi

I'm Amanda from Jay & Amanda in the second thread Carrie posted! Our Memories VR was fantastic and I would be happy to answer any questions you have. Feel free to PM me if you want or just ask away here.

We opted out of the photo package and hired Randy Chapman to take photos instead. Even though there was an extra cost involved I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Happy planning!!

Hello Lurky Loo and MrsRomance, Thank you very much for your answers and links. I loved looking through MrsRomance's VR it looked like it was an amazing time. I have read Passporter's Weddings and Honeymoons and found it very helpful for pricing so that I can get an idea how much it might run me by 2014.

I still have a few questions for both of you that some were not in the book and others for MrsRomance. If you do not mind.

Do you have to put a deposit on the Memories package or just book a trip?

Is there a penalty for cancellations before or after a certain number of days?

Can you use a Dining Plan linked to your room reservations for your "reception" which would be normal ADR's at one of the resturants?

How would the Park Shoot work for Disney Cruise Brides?

Would you have to stay a night in Disney to do the shoot?

Do you find the Hour for the included photo package would be enough for pictures with my children as well as some solo couple shots?

My main concern for this shoot is for my family shots mostly as the Park Shoot would be obviously couple shots. I never had a professional photographer for my wedding and pictures we do have were not great looking away or no shots with my children just one and my husband was nowhere to be found for reception shots lol.

Can we do the back entrance route in the park with our attire for a resturant or just like MrsRomance a dessert or reception party in the park?

For MrsRomance or Lurky Loo

How much was Randy Chapman? If you don't mind me asking.

Do you know what his packages are?

Do you feel the transportation was worth keeping in the package or would you have traded it for the In room celebration?

How much was your Fantasmic dinner? What would you change if anything about it?

Again Thank you soooo much for the answers!!! I am greatful!!

Do you have to put a deposit on the Memories package or just book a trip?

A $500 deposit is due within 2 weeks of booking. (This is on page 9, but I should put it in the Memories chapter too!)

Can you use a Dining Plan linked to your room reservations for your "reception" which would be normal ADR's at one of the resturants?

Sure! DFTW is not involved in anything related to that. You can use your dining plan credits however you want.

How would the Park Shoot work for Disney Cruise Brides?

Same as any other bride—you just call Disney Event Photography to book.

Would you have to stay a night in Disney to do the shoot?

They meet you very early in the morning at your Disney resort, so I'd say yes.

Can we do the back entrance route in the park with our attire for a resturant or just like MrsRomance a dessert or reception party in the park?

No, if you have a regular restaurant reservation in the park, you cannot wear your wedding attire—the CMs are supposed to stop you at the gate. In theory, you aren't even allowed to wear it to a private event inside the park unless it is arranged by Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings, but Mr. & Mrs. Romance were not prevented from doing this at Hollywood Studios.

Yes, we had to put a deposit down and it was $500 and you have to to have a 2 night minimum stay at a Disney Resort

Is there a penalty for cancellations before or after a certain number of days?
Yes there was, but we aren't sure what it was as we can't find the paperwork at the moment!

Can you use a Dining Plan linked to your room reservations for your "reception" which would be normal ADR's at one of the resturants? Yes, you can book any reservation for a 'reception' but there are restrictions about wedding attire in the parks

How would the Park Shoot work for Disney Cruise Brides? Not sure on this one will defer to Carrie!

Would you have to stay a night in Disney to do the shoot? See above!

Do you find the Hour for the included photo package would be enough for pictures with my children as well as some solo couple shots? We skipped the hour, but in my opinion it wouldn't leave a lot of time for very many shots outside the ceremony. Maybe someone who used DPS for their Memories ceremony could clarify.

Yes we did but we booked it through Disney Catered Events and had to pay for transport backstage.

For MrsRomance or Lurky Loo

How much was Randy Chapman? If you don't mind me asking. Check with Randy for the current package prices but we had his Memories package with additional time and it was about $400.

Do you know what his packages are? Not sure but you could contact him via his FB or website, or PM me your details and I can pass it on for you

Do you feel the transportation was worth keeping in the package or would you have traded it for the In room celebration? We had both. We kept the limo and paid for the In-room Celebration -- and wouldn't have done it differently! I'm still using the spa kit!

How much was your Fantasmic dinner? What would you change if anything about it? With the venue rental and the food it was approx $1800. I wouldn't have changed a thing, it was the most amazing time! I would, however, not have put my rum-chocolate-banana torte down to watch the show since it was time to leave not long afterward!!

Again Thank you soooo much for the answers!!! I am greatful!!

No problem! I hope I've answered (in red) all of your questions but feel free to ask away or PM me if you want any more info!

Again Thank you both sooooo much.

Lurky Loo. I must have missed the last part of page nine or forgot it was there haha. I definitely do not think it was in the chapter for memories. I looked that over a couple times to be sure. But I thank you for your answers!!!

Can we have a dessert Party with a memories package? Or is it just for Escape and Wishes? How much are they usually since we are going to have 4 of us I was just wondering if it would be worth it? I want to make our day special for our kids too and something like this would be great.

Anybody can plan a dessert party by calling Disney's Catered Events at 321-939-7278 — you just have to be staying at a Disney-owned resort. If you use one of the smallest Epcot locations, like Bonsai Terrace or UK Pubside, you're looking at a $185 venue rental and a $230 food and beverage minimum, plus a $12.95 viewing fee for anyone who doesn't have park admission. There's a 21% service charge on food and beverage and 6.5% tax on everything.

We are in a similar situation- VR with just our two daughters. We originally wanted to do a dessert party in Epcot, but my girls would probably eat half a cookie and walk away, so it would be a waste of food! The only place that we've been told can work is Bonsai Terrace in Japan. I asked about UK Pubside, but was told there are too many restrictions and we can't book it. So now we are trying to do a private dinner. Grand 1 has been suggested and our planner is looking into locations around Grand Floridian. Any info I get I'll try to pass along. (Thanks to Lurkyloo for all the great info about planing private parties!)

You could do a Wishes or Illuminations cruise on a pontoon boat. They run about $346 and that would be a wonderful way to end your day. You can book those 180 days out 407-WDW-PLAY.

Just a note about UK Pubside: The way to get it is to be persistent. Everyone I know who's been told no is eventually told yes when they point out that X, Y, and Z DISers just had a party there. It sounds like you guys are more interested in the GF dinner, though, so that'll be less stressful. :goodvibes
