Ok...So I just found out about the Memories Package for Escape Fairy Tale Weddings. This just might be my ticket to getting to do a VR!!!
Does anyone have more information about this?? I've been looking at the website, but it's not extremely helpful. Does it come with a cake?? Can we add the MK Photo Package?? Any info I can present to DH would be extremely helpful!! :thumbsup2

I don't believe that the Memories package includes a cake. And no, you can't add an MK shoot either.

It does not include a cake. What we did was order one through the GF bakery and have it delivered to the Garden View Tea Lounge, where we went after the ceremony.

I'm unclear on the MK shoot - I've read here that you can't add it but the brochure they sent me on photography upgrades did include a page on the MK shoot :confused3. That was last fall though so I'm not sure about now.

That would be perfect if you are able to add the MK shoot!! All we are wanting is something very intimate, probably just the 2 of us, so we really don't need all that the regular escape offers. I really, really, really want a MK photo shoot though!! I would want a photoshoot with Randy Chapman too and try to have a cake sent to V&A or Cali Grill or something like that.
We were just so disappointed with our wedding and especially our wedding pictures that we would like to do this for ourselves.

you get a bouquet, a space for a 15 minute service (three venue choices), one hour of photography from disney photography, a violinist, limo service for three hours OR honeymoon decorations in your room.... i think that's all. you do have to provide your own officiant.

for the price, it's a totally great deal!

it's only available until april 2012. you can't book more than six months in advance. you do not get cake. you cannot make any changes or add-ons really.

you can do an MK shoot. I'm almost positive on this... i mean, they do MK bridal shoots for non-disney brides... so they must let memories brides also do that.

That is fabulous!!!! Do you guys know if it's possible if we book Randy for a full day, would he be able to shoot along with the Disney Photographer??
Plus would we not be able to hire an officiant through Disney?? We don't know anyone.
Sorry for all the questions!! :goodvibes

Actually, non-Disney brides cannot have an MK shoot. They can have shoots in other parks though. It is one of the perks of having a DFTW wedding. Found in another thread that Memories brides CAN have an MK shoot.

Yes, Randy would be able to shoot with the Disney photographer. Randy would be the primary photographer, dictating poses and locations etc. and then the Disney one would shoot more cameo pics.

Disney will send you a lit of officiants that they work with regularly. I'm not sure for the Memories package but for Escape if you didn't go with one on the list then the officiant would also count towards your total guest count.

Initially you could not book a MK photo shoot with the Memories package. However, I believe that has since changed. I'm sure I read this in a post from the Disney wedding oracle that is Lurkyloo, so I'd feel pretty confident that the information is correct. :thumbsup2

I don't think the package comes with a cake, however, you can order one from the Boardwalk or the GF bakery and have it served at a restaurant you plan to eat at afterwards. NOTE: This does depend on the restaurant some are okay with this, some aren't so you'll have to ask when you book.

As for asking Randy to shoot along side Disney, this should be fine. I believe Randy had a great package going at the moment for memories couples.

Disney will supply you with a list of officiants but you will have to contact them yourself. It's very simple and pretty much all of the ones Disney recommend are highly recommended on these boards as well.

Happy planning! :goodvibes

I believe a Memories bride reported that she had to forfeit the Disney photog when booking her own outside photog (I know with escape you still get the Disney photog even if you have your own but it sounds like they had a different rule for Memories:confused3).

ETA: I found the post I had read about forfeiting the Disney photog: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=40265249&postcount=59 (it's mentioned a few paragraphs down) HTH

Hi!! We are booked for our Memories Collection wedding on Luau Beach on October 1st! We have Randy booked as well as Stan for video and video streaming. From what I understand you CAN have a MK photoshoot!

We cant wait until our small intimate wedding package!

Thanks for all the info guys!! I really appreciate it. :goodvibes Would anyone happen to have the password to Randy's site?? I thought it was "Ariel", but I assume it's changed??

Here is the planning email they send you for Memories. It has pictures of the flower choices and add-ons as well as current prices for any additional items. http://www.disneyweddingsupport.com/Email Attachments/Memories PK.pdf

You can add on a MK photo shoot, however you can not add on a cake. You can call Disney's cake hotline yourself and order a cake to be delivered to a restaurant :). One thing they seem to bend the rules on is the day of the week. The website says "Saturday and Sunday only" but we were told we could book any day, as long as the location and time were available.
