Memories Collection Brides?

Hello lovely Disbrides!

Dh and I will be married 15 years in September 2013. We eloped via the courthouse. We would love to have a ceremony to celebrate our marriage and reaffirm our vows to one another.

We were planning on having a huge vow renewal inviting all family and friends. We talked about this a few years ago with everyone, letting them all know.

Well, nobody has saved/planned enough, so we are thinking about taking our three children down next September and having a Memories renewal. Just the 5 of us. I understand it will just be the ceremony and we will be on our own to celebrate reception-style afterwards.

I have scoured the Disney Wedding website and still have a few questions.

What is the booking time for the Memories option? Is the deposit the same amount as the other options? Does this option include the DFTW gifts, or perks I guess, like the other options? Are their any other Memories brides that could share their experiences?

Hello and Congrats on the upcoming 15 years!!!

DH and I celebrated our 30th with a Memories VR - we used the Luau Beach location and opted for just the two of us (our children are grown and really weren't interested except for the fact they could have gotten a trip out of it)....

As far as deposit - I'm not sure what that is because we initially started with the Escape package - and then downsized after we realized that we didn't want or need other family there so our deposit was $1000....

The package does include bride's bouquet, violinist, ceremony photo package, wedding coordinator and choice of limo or in room romance package (we chose the limo ).... you do have option of adding other enhancements - like groom's boutoniere (? spelling) and extra photography (we did a photo shoot at DHS)....

I'm not sure about booking timeline (we did ours 6 months out)...but I'm sure others here will know for sure (ladies???)

FWIW - for us it was the perfect choice - we were able to use a blend of vows that our officiant had plus insert our own written sentiments - we did a Wishes fireworks cruise on the Grand-I Yacht to end the celebration that evening - magnificient and such a great ending to a great day...

Our experience with DFTW was excellent (our daughter got married at WDW in 2008 so we knew what to expect). It was worth every penny - I highly recommend it for your VR.....

Memories is 6 months before you can book. Don't know about deposit sorry.

I don't think you get anything that isn't listed on the website.

The booking time is 6 months in advance. You are required to put a $500 deposit down. There are no DFTW gifts such as the AP's you get with the Escape or Wishes wedding's. You are required to have a two night reservation at a WDW resort and beyond flowers and photography there really are no other upgrades you can do.

I was hoping to be able to do a park photo shoot. Yay! (This was my largest worry...I never had a wedding dress the first time, so I was REALLY hoping to have one and have pictures in a park, doesn't even matter which one.

And wiserabbit, CONGRATS! 30 years is amazing!

Don't be disappointed that you are not having a big vow renewal. We did both the Memories collection and a Wishes wedding. The Memories wedding was by far the best! My family still does not know about the Memories and it was hard not to tell them...lol. I think the best part was the fact that there was just 6 of us there versus 85 at our Wishes wedding. We had ours at luau beach as well if you have any questions let me know.
