Memories at Wilderness Lodge

Wilderness Lodge has a special place in my heart.

1. On my first ever trip to Disney when I was 7, my family was upgraded to Club Level for free. Talk about a great first trip! We were also there during the holidays, so seeing the amazing decorations in the lobby was certainly a sight to see.
2. A few years ago, we stayed at Wilderness Lodge again, and got to be a flag family! The views from the roof are something that I will never forget.

Wilderness lodge was the first resort I stayed at as an adult-my brother was married at Disneyworld on that trip. It is my original home resort, because I had such good memories but lots since. Love Christmastime there.

Using the covered walkway for about the tenth time to cross from the main hotel to BRV with my 40 year old first-time visitor friend, and hearing her say, "I can't believe how loud the crickets are every time we walk here!"

And then me telling her (smiling and pointing), "Umm... those are recorded cricket sounds coming through these speakers".

Coming back late at night and seeing all the equipment in the lobby and knowing the next morning all the Christmas decorations would be up!!

I got to watch my favorite team in the world, the St. Louis Blues, win the Stanley Cup for the first time from a CCV studio at my favorite hotel in the world. It's a wonderful memory for me and was only our second time staying at WL and our first time in a villa.

I have only stayed at WL once before my family bought into DVC back in 2006. But it was in December....oh the Christmas Decorations. Also, DH loved Artist Point when it was a Signature Restaurant. He loved all the game meat items. We had a few really nice dinner there. We would always take the boat over from BLT for dinner. Such a nice experience, boat ride and delicious food.

I was just there in November to have dinner at Whispering Canyon and once again I got enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations. What a beautiful resort. I will definitely have to stay there soon. Maybe the Cabins! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

There was a big lego table at the entrance to Whispering Canyon Cafe when we stayed there (a few months after they opened in 1994). Both my sons were lego fans, and so they loved playing with the legos. Is that table still there?

First time I visited WL was December about 5 years ago - I went specifically to see the Christmas decorations - went home and bought DVC points ASAP because I knew I just had to stay every December after that! Since then I’ve added on 2x because I just love it there!!!

Our first visit to Wilderness Lodge started on Christmas Eve 1994. I never realized that a Christmas could be so magical. On Christmas Eve we went to go to the parks at 6:30 p.m. but when we entered the lobby, it was full of Disney characters, a Victorian choir, a brass band, Santa Claus and other events. We ended up staying in the lobby for the evening. Next morning the children found Christmas stockings (from the hotel) hanging on their door. My grandchildren now experience the same thing that their parents did

Ahh what beautiful stories. We stayed at WL for the first time in 2010 based on our travel agent saying how great the boat was to magic kingdom for the strollers and the kids. As many will say, we’ve stayed at Port Orleans, Yacht Club, Boardwalk ( for spring vacations), and recently the Riveria, but Wilderness Lodge is my HOME. We have stayed there the week before thanksgiving or the week after for the past 6 years, till 2020:guilty:.

MEMORIES: My 4 year old son running out the doors from the gift shop, outside to go toward the buses, slapping the bells in front of the arcade and then .....seeing the stitch sign that said wet paint. Thus, back up to the room

The addition of Geyser point and delicious Bison burger sitting by the lake, then strolling around the grounds upon our first night’s arrival to a trip

setting the alarm on my phone to wake up at 2am, then going out to see them put up the Christmas tree in the lobby. So organized and cool.

How in character , the Evil Queen is at the character dinner

The wonderful lady, oh my gosh I’m forgetting her name. Who helps you in Roaring Fork and remembers my hometown every time.

it’s a truly magical part of our vacation and children’s memories. I can’t wait to go back

My wife and I went to WL about 9 years ago. At the time one son was 6 and the other was 3. At every elevator they would instinctively rush to get on and we feared that one day the doors would close before we could get one and then what? How do you know where your kids are? For some reason this was at its worst (worse? I dunno don't judge me) on that trip. I yelled at the boys several times, maybe with some colorful language not to get on the elevator.

So my youngest is in the stroller sucking his thumb and older gentlemen is at the elevator. Door opens and then my son takes his thumb out of his mouth yells at him "don't get on the God darn (but not darn) elevator".

Everytime I'm at the elevators at WL I relive this.

I’m just going to echo others here. Walking into lobby for the first time at Christmas time. Unbelievable! I might also add that after going home, we became CCV owners immediately. Love it!

We went to WL for the first time when going for a tour of CCV, and I still can recall that feeling of awe when stepping into the lobby. It's just lovely! While we didn't choose CCV or BRV as our home resort, we still love visiting. On our last stay, we went all around exploring the sitting areas on the upper levels of the lobby. There are so many great quiet spaces. They feel like hidden gems.

DARN! the secret is revealed, LOL I'd probably have been another who thought they where real!! :P

Our first DVC stay Easter 2002 (I think it was in March that year and my boys were about 3 and 6). The Easter Egg hunt with the characters is one of my favorite Disney memories. The Mousekeeping staff was so fun. One day we came back to the room and heard some music in the bedroom. The boys' stuffed animals were swinging from the ceiling fan with TP streamers.

We love Wilderness Lodge
