Hi
Just contemplating maybe sneaking in an extra trip to WDW.

Would memorial weekend (arriving 5/26 leaving 5/31) be less crowded (and cooler) than July 5-10th??

We've been in late Aug 2x and know we can tolerate the extreme heat and rain, but it's a little less crowded then.DH unfortunately can't get off from work this Aug.
We're wondering if heat and crowds in July would be too much??

Our kids would prefer July as in May they are not done with school yet (but have a x-tra long wknd 5/27-5/31 off). Living in the northeast school isn't done until 6/25, so June is out also.

Thanks in advance for input:wave2: :goodvibes

There will be crowds, Most Florida Schools get out May 21st and it will also be warm (OK hot)...But not as crowded or hot as in July.

Hope this helps...

Actually I would go with July 4th. There is a LOT going on then and having been both times I can't say it is that much more crowded in July then over Memorial Day.

If you can get there on the 4th, all of the parks have AWESOME fireworks.

I second Magic in recommending Memorial Weekend over 4th of July weekend. We have done both and Memorial weekend was MUCH more tolerable in terms of humdity/high temps and crowds. If your schedule absolutely dictates July, make sure you plan to hit the parks as soon as they open, hang out at the pool in the afternoons when it gets SOOOO hot/crowded and drink lots of water. To be honest, our kids tolerated the heat/lines/crowds better than we did.....something to be said for youth, I guess!

WOW! Florida schools are out on May 21st? We are going from the 17th through the 26th. Will it get very crowded that soon after school lets out? We were planning to leave before Memorial day weekend to avoid most of the crowds...

Thanks!!

E.

Here's a vote for July 4th. We go to WDW during the July 4th week each year, and we love it. It is crowded on the 4th, but the other days don't seem any different to us than other times in the summer months. It's very festive, with special fireworks and events planned too! princess:

I vote July 4th week to. The parks stays open late and hot out side.

My family will be arriving Memorial Weekend, so I'd recommend you go 4th of July to make our stay less crowded.;)

We've been at both times. I prefer the Memorial Weekend because the Flower and Garden show is at Epcot. Temps have been in the 90's then as well, so it's not necessarily more moderate.

Pixie dust!

I vote July 4th.

We went July 4 - 11 2002 and had an awesome time . . .the fireworks were great and the crowds after the 4th were managable. Also, it rained for an hour or two every afternoon.

Last year we went June 20 - 26 and it was extremely crowded, more than I saw the previous year during a holiday week. DH and I both agreed that we'd much rather go again for July 4th week than in June.

We went last Memorial day wknd and it was great. I didn't think it was too crowded,or too hot. In July you have more humidity and a greater chance of rain. Our county gets out of school on May 18. They go back the first week of August, tho. I know last yr they had room codes for May,,i'm not sure about July.

Most Georgia public schools are out on May 21st this year also. We are in private school and are out on May 28th. School starts in early to mid August here in the South.
