memorial weekend

Could anyone please tell me whether they think the week before memorial day or the week after will be less crowded. thanks

According to this:http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/attend.htm it just says Memorial Day weedend. I would guess it would depend on when schools in the south get out. I know they get out in May sometime, they would probally make a difference. Also, you may want to check the calender of events for May http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/events.htm#may some of the events could raise the crowd levels.

I would guess that the week before would be less crowded. After Memorial day I would think more schools would be out and family vacations would be starting up.

We were there the week before Memorial Weekend this year and it was fine! We left on Friday to go to Vero Beach.

We stayed at the POP last May the week before Memorial Day. The crowds were low and the weather the best we have ever had. On Friday the 27th the crowds got very heavy at MGM. This was because of A: Star Wars week-end, and B: A CM told me that locals come to the parks on three day week-ends. We will always try to visit in May as it was a wonderful vacation.

thanks everyone for your advice. we are going to try to go the week before memorial day but it depends on how many snow days we have between now and then. If my son misses the last day of school he gets a zero on finals. so i guess we'll just wait and see.

Our schools, like many in the South, are usually out around the 21st, 22nd, 23rd of May. That is when we try to head straight for WDW. This year, due to other commitments, we had to arrive after Memorial Day and were amazed at how much more crowded it was. I join the other posters in saying go the week or at least a few days before if possible. Many locals are at the parks that weekend also.
