I just realized that our vacation is smack dab from the 22 of May until the 29th ,,,lol never even looked when I booked . I am graduating from college so that was the main reason for the trip. Here are my questions,,,,
what am I in for crowd wise?
will the parks max out with capacity?
Do the parks do anything special for this weekend?
And if the parks do max out what times are best to get there to get in?
Thanks in advance!

They are not likely to reach full capacity, but it will be very crowded. No special events. As with any day, the best time to get in and maximize your time is at park open.

they have star wars weekend

We've gone for just about every Memorial Day weekend for the past ten years and the parks are NOT going to max out so put that idea out of your head.

We've managed fine with the crowds and have been able to see everything we want. Yes, it's Star Wars Weekend but I've found the parade and the area near Star Tours to be congested but the rest of the Studios is fine.

You just have to anticipate high crowds at the Studios (but still manageable - just don't think you can do Toy Story Mania without some thought) but everything else is fine.

Don't panic.

Yeah our arrival day is the 19th to the 25, so Memorial Saturday.

Josh at EasyWDW has 5s most of the week. I've done 5s before. 5s are fine.

He's got 7 for Friday and 8 of Saturday and Sunday. (Actually 7-8 for the rest of your trip.)

Flower and Garden wraps up the 19th.

Star Wars Weekends start the 17th and run till June 9th.

I don't think they do anything particularly special for Memorial Day.

Although I'd probably make a point to see the Flag Ceremony that day. That one might be a little more special.

We're going down the 25th! Our favorite time of year is going around Memorial Day weekend- weathers good and crowds are not near as bad as other times- Presidents' Day, spring break, Christmas. Magic kingdom is usually packed the Saturday of Memorial Day but other than its just average crowds. We avoid the afternoons- be there at rope drop, take a pool break and then head back to the park. That plan works great and we've been doing that for 8 years!

I'm with polyfor4! It's a great time to go! We'll be there that same week as well. We've been going this week for a few years now. You do miss flower and garden but you get Star Wars weekend as PP said!

I've been Memorial Day weekend many times. The crowds are moderate (much lower than spring break!), the park hours long, and the weather is not too bad yet. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday weekend at Disney.

We went Memorial Day three years ago and are going back again this year. It was not overly bad crowd wise. There were lots os people, but nothing like you see during Christmas and Easter. Get there early to maximize rides, take a break during the hot part of the day and come back for the evening.

I find the crowds on Memorial Day much lighter than the Saturday and Sunday before Memorial Day. I like that weekend.

Sunday and Monday will be your worst days (we will be there the same time).
But very managable. Pay attention to the most recommended parks for those days at either easywdw.com or touringplans.com and you will be fine. I would avoid HS on Sunday and MK on Monday.

We have been going to World almost every year during Memorial weekend . We like it very much because it is not too hot and not so crowd either . Hope to see you there during Star War weekend . Have a magical Eastern.

It may get a lot more crowded for a few days. There will be over 50,000 people coming for some special events (Not actually sponsored by the Parks) running from May 28 through June 3.

We are usually in WDW Memorial Weekend. I don't think the parks are too bad at all. You don't have to worry about the parks closing because they are full. The crowds pick up that weekend but IMHO not very much, to me it's barely noticable.
