Memorial Weekend -- how bad is it?!

Hello fellow Disney groupies!

My husband and I have visited Disney World in September and January, which were both wonderful, but we're thinking of doing a last-minute trip over Memorial Day weekend and the following week.

Have any of you "done" Disney during this time? Any info about the crowd levels?

We went in 2006. It was extremely hot but we had a good time. We wanted a room at POP but they were booked so we had to book through an online group that charged us $125 per night You ABSOLUTELY need to plan and use the FP's and you'll have fun.

It's doable and you'll be fine, go! It's better than being at home!

We arrived on Memorial Day last year and stayed for the week. Memorial Day at MK was suprisingly uncrowded. We practically walked on Small World!! I seem to recall AK being very crowded that week, but the rest weren't to unbearable. The crowds started picking up at the end of the week for Star Wars Weekend.
The weather was great!!
We'd go that week again, but we have a scheduling conflict. We have to wait till June 7. I'm very worried about the crowds and heat.

We were there the last two years on fri and sat of Mem weekend. The crowds were much bigger than the rest of the week, but were definitely doable with some FP and planning. Do however expect 60 min waits on the most popular attractions for most of the day.

Was there last year. Spent part of the day in Epcot. Lines were horrendous. The outdoor food booths/carts ran out of water. It took me over an hour to find one that had water to sell. Waits for the attractions were ridiculous. I would skip the holiday weekend if possible.

The crowds will be well above average on Memorial Day weekend, but not at peak capacity. Get up early and stick to a plan -- you should be OK.
