Memorial Week Cruise May 24-29, 2009

Jenelabri....my prayers are with you and your family. You started this thread and I can feel how much it means to you. Love and peace to you! Will be glad to share the trip report on return.

Hey fellow Floridian cruisers... we are in Oviedo, just to the northeast of Orlando and about 45 minutes to the port. We've always driven to the port, arriving between 10 - 11 and never had a problem parking right away.

Also, for those of you arriving in the next couple of days, we are in the midst of some very rainy weather. Great news considering our drought conditions and for the fires that have been breaking out, but bad news for vacationers. It's expected to start clearing on Thursday and will be in the high 80s through the weekend with scattered afternoon rains.
Geez, last week I was having to add water to the pool, now we have to start draining it.:confused3

Stephanie - THANK YOU for the spreadsheet! I was thinking of making one up because I was getting so confused on the counts for the FEs!:thumbsup2

We used to live in Clermont before heading to Clearwater. We used to frequent Oviedo often! What a small world!

Glad ya'll are finally getting some rain. We have had a boatload so far. We finally have a few days break. :woohoo:

It will be closer to noon when we get to port since we have a sunrise safari and breakfast at AK before we go. I figure that will be over around 10 and then we have to go back to AKLV to check out and so forth and so on. :woohoo:

I am looking at suitcases on one side of the room and clothes laying on the sofa. Wish the packing fairy would put them together!! :rolleyes1

I don't think any of us have Dunnhorns room number just that it will start with a 6.

See all of you in a few!! :dance3::cheer2::cool1:

Ohhhhhhh I am so excited.

We also will be coming from about 1.5 hours away from PC (not exactly sure where - we are driving from GA to FL on Friday).....and arriving about 10 am. We will be in a minivan with GA tags - 2 of them. :woohoo:

We are planning on wearing our lime green shirts onto the ship.

See ya all there!

:dance3:Almost cruise time!! :dance3:

I was talking to my DH this a.m. He said that the last time we went we left the house at about 7:00 and got to the port at about 9:30. That is probably the reason why they would not let us in the parking lot! This time we are going to leave at about 7:30.

We are going to be wearing matching t-shirts with one of Mel's great DISigns. So far they are blue (could not find lime green). I am going to check 1 more craft store today to see if there are any lime green shirts. AND if I totally mess these up (good chance I might) We have little green Mickey heads from Home Depot! :thumbsup2

See ya all soon! :goodvibes

Anyone know what are chances of seeing the new movie UP while on board? It comes out in theaters the day we leave.

According to DCL a few moments ago, the movie listings for our cruise are:

High School Musical 3
Hannah Montana - 3D Concert & Movie
Bedtime Stories
Confessions of a Shopaholic (?)
Earth
Race to Witch Mountain
Jonas Bros.

I asked about UP and she didn't have it listed but did say that whatever day it premieres in the States, it will show on the ship.

FOUR MORE DAYS!!!!

That will stink if we don't get to see UP onboard. It comes out on the 29th according to the disney website, so I'm guessing it's a no.
But I remember seeing Santa Clause 3 onboard a week before it was released in theaters. So maybe there is hope????

WAAH! I just read the 10 day trend for Nassau and it shows 60% rain the whole time!

Keep in mind that this can also mean the typical tropical afternoon rain... you know, pouring one minute, bright and sunny (and humid!) the next.
It'll be all bright skies... Captain Mickey makes sure of it!:wizard:

So, they'll probably start with midnight showings on the 28th (well, technically the 29th). I'd say we're gonna miss it. :headache:

I sure hope so! I can not believe the rain we have been getting here. I haven't got to walk all week. I usually walk 45 minutes at lunch everyday and then 45 minutes 4 nights/days a week, so this has really put a damper on my exercise! LOL! I hope it turns soon into the evening thunderstorm instead of the all day rain we have been experiencing! :cool2:

Ok, tell me again wear to get the mickey heads from home depot? I don't know what I will be wearing, but Madison will be wearing a red/white nautical outfit. We are both blonde and its just the two of us, so we should be easy to spot. Oh, and we will have a green vera bradley backpack. That is as much green as we have. :)

They are in the paint department. They are little swatches of color in the shape of Mickey heads. I then bought little pin backings to put them on. Since I found lime green shirts yesterday, the 3 of us will be wearing those. I will have them with us if you need them. We will be there at 10:00.
