Memorial Day Weekend 2020?

Hi there!!

This next school year my kids will be getting out of school on May 22nd. This is a couple weeks sooner than they have gotten out in the past.

My question is how busy is Memorial Day weekend?
Was thinking of going from May 24th-May 30th. Should we go then or maybe go May 26th-June 1st? Would the crowds be less or more since it’s further into summer and more schools will be getting out?

Any help or opinions are greatly appreciated!!

We have went several times over Memorial Day. We were there in 2018 and the crowds were not bad at all. However Tropical Storm Alberto was threatening all of Florida so that might have kept the crowds down a bit. The storm ended up changing its track slightly at the last second and it wasn't an issue.

We did this in 2019. I thought it worked out well. The most we waited was around 45 minutes for Slinky Dog Dash and Mickey and Minnie at MK.

For some context, we were able to get FP for FoP on our second day when we booked our FP at 60 days. This would have been Memorial Day itself.

Thanks for the info!! I’m really hoping it’s not super busy memorial weekend. It was pretty busy when we were there June of 2015 so I think we can handle the crowds

We go every year at this time. We usually fly in on Memorial Day. In my opinion the crowds are very manageable. But like has been stated before, crowd level is a very subjective statement. Everyone has their own opinion of what crowded is. Since we go every year for 7 days, we have found success with going with the mindset that it is going to be wall to wall crowded. We set up our touring plan that way . if the opposite occurs we have much more flexibility. I used to stress the crowd levels constantly, but now we just " Let it go"

I went the last 2 years leaving on Monday, I was able to get all my FP’s which was nice. It was mid level for me. Not bat crazy but not quiet either. The weather was nice and not too. Coming from NY it’s still kinda chilly in May,

It's busy. Don't be fooled!
You have a better chance of weather not being terrible, as in July/August. It can be super hot though as we found out last year.

Just get your FP at the moment you can and go with the flow.
