DH: 34 Year Old NASCAR Loving Disney Enjoyer(he likes it, enjoys it, but isn't quite the fanatic I am) and elementary school principal. Great husband, great dad. 'Nuff said.
Ben/DS: 4 year old Disney fanatic already.
We had a Mickey wake-up call at 6:45(I was up at 6:30 anywayand in the shower-so Brent actually got the wake up call). We were able to get ready, grab a quick breakfast of donuts and Diet Coke and be out the door at 7:40. We caught a bus around 7:45. I thought we would make it to Early Entry at MK just fine, but by the time we drove over to the Dolphin(and the bus was totally loaded after this stopthe driver had to turn people away) it still took us a while to get to the MK. After hearing many more Look! Another Disney Bus! exclamations from Ben we finally got there around 8:10. We also ran into a family that was from Kentucky and actually knew our neighbor(both are basketball coaches).
It looked like they had already been letting people in the park for a while. We went straight to Buzz, bypassing the characters on Main Street(no big charactersones from Pocahantas and Timon and Rafiki, but no Mickey). We rode Buzz with a posted wait time of 5 minutes but it took 10. As we got off, we got a FP for later and at Bens request went to Dumbo. This was already a 20 min wait, but Ben really wanted to do it, so we waited and rode. Actually Ben and I rodewe all three tried to get in the elephant, but the seat belt wouldnt handle our entire group(remember Im pregnant!) and Ben wouldnt sit in my or Brent's lap so Brent sat this one out. We then hit Philharmagic. Ben didnt really want to do this onebut he LOVED the ending. Seeing him reach out to everything was funny. We then headed over to Peter Pan and Snow White. Then Brent and Ben went to the Indy Speedway while I found a bathroom and got FP for Pooh. I got a bottle of water and sat in the shade to wait for the guys. It was already hot, and when the guys came out we headed back to use our FP for Buzz. We were glad we had these FP, the wait was already VERY long. We were on in 3 minutes, then we decided to head out and grab some lunch on the way.
We stopped at the Plaza for lunch. I thought I had read good things on this restaurant but we were disappointed. We both had cheeseburgers, Ben had the kids hot dogs. Total was over $30 and I think the burgers are better at the counter restaurants. Our waitress wasnt very nice either. We felt like we were inconveniencing her to place our order.
After lunch we catch a bus back to BWV and rested in the room for a while. Then we head back out for more swimming. Ben had changed his mind on the Keister Coaster now and went down it about 15 times. Brent would stay in the pool and I went to the top with Ben. I couldnt go down the slide(dr.s orders) so I would stay up there and signal to Brent how many more people were coming down before Ben. Ben would always look out to Brent and give him a thumbs up before he went down. Brent said he would get to the bottom and say Again! so Brent would take him to the steps, he would run back up and get in line.
After swimming we went back in, changed clothes and headed to ESPN Club for supper. This was nearly the same price as lunch but was much better quality food, IMO. I had the Chicken strips dipped in the hot wing sauce(cant remember what its called) and Brent had a roast beef sandwich(he says this was the best roast beef sandwich hes ever had!). I dont remember what Ben had but he did eat some of it
We decided to head over to the World Showcase for a while. I couldnt believe we hadnt been to EPCOT yet. Its usually one of the first things we do. It was still very hot out, and by the time we walked over and walked through WS, I was very hot and having a hard time breathing. I told Brent I needed to cool off and we went into one of those shops at the gateway between WS and FW. Ben had some money to spend that my mom had given him and he picked out two blue Disney Bears and said he wanted one for him and one for his baby sister(that I am pregnant with). Well, you got it, my heart melted that he would think of his unborn sister and buying her something when we hadnt even mentioned it. I was a little worried about both of them having the exact same color so I asked him if he was sure he wanted both of them to have blue. He looked around for a minute and said, No I want the pink one for my baby sister!. So I bought the pink one and he bought the blue one for himself and even had enough for a light saberthis is what he calls the multi-colored flashlights that WDW sells with all their light-up toys. He decided to name his bear Baker(this is what we are naming his sister) and he carried it with us the rest of the night(and to this day it still sleeps with him and he takes it wherever well let him).
We then hit Mexico, riding El Rio del Tiempo and went to Living Seas and Spaceship Earth. We made another stop after this to rest and have a snack of popcorn( I really just wanted the containerbut Brent and Ben enjoyed the popcorn). I was warned by the guy that sold me the popcorn that the birds were harassing people and I should Be careful is what he said. This was a little scary and I had visions of birds attacking us over our popcorn, but we didnt seem to have a problem(most animals tend to steer away from 4 year olds, Ive found).
We walked back to BWV and stopped by Seashore Sweets(I didnt have any popcorn, remember) and we all had one last snack. We took it back to the room to enjoy. I sat out on the balcony with Ben and we people-watched for a while. We had the perfect spot for this. Brent stayed inside and watched the Nextel Cup Coca Cola 600 race on tv. Ben and I took turns talking about what wed done so far and he wanted to wish on a star he sawall while hearing Illuminations fireworks in the background. Aaahhhh. Its nice to be home.
