Our vacation is May 29 -June 3. Will the crowds be manageable? I completely forgot it was Memorial Day weekend. All I could think of at the time was schools out -lets go to Disneyworld.Does anyone have a strategy? Should we go to MK on Sunday? We 'll arrive on property about noon,if our flight is not delayed. My DD is bringing her friend who has never been to WDW.Both girls are 11.WE want to make the trip especially memorable for her. Thanks!!
Julie

Memorial Day Weekend and Memorial Day are busy but the crowds drop off some after Monday. I wouldn't recommend MK on Sunday though unless you just really, really want to go there first, it'll be quite crowded. That's a great age for the kids to be there, they are young enough to be extremely excited and old enough to be able to handle all the walking. As far as strategies go, I like to go to a park the day after it has had the early opening day and be there at rope drop. Go do the major rides early. Get a fastpass for one and go to a standby line for another. Once the major attractions get crowded I do those only with fastpass and do other lesser attractions nearby until fastpass time. Have a great time!

Julie - We are going at the same time - arriving Friday the 27th about 2:00pm. We plan on going straight to MK with a character dinner at Liberty Tavern. On Saturday it is Star Wars Weekend at MGM and then Sunday at Epcot. We won't go back to MK until Tuesday or Wednesday. Like you I know it will be busy but we will make the best of it. Where are you staying?? Get you PS's ASAP.

:flower: Thanks!! We are staying at Coronado.I made my PS about 3 wks ago,so we're fine. After ya'lls tips, I think we will go to MGM as it has rockin rollin coaster - my DD's favorite ride.EMH that evening are at MGM.I think that we can "do" the park in one day due to the EMH.I reaaly appreciate your feedback. :thewave:

We arrive Wed the 25th and stay through the following Wed. I have MK scheduled on Thursday 26th and again the following Monday. I figured we'll get all our favorites accomplished on the 26th and won't feel compelled to rush on the 30th. We're also planning Studios that Saturday (my son is a huge Star Wars fan) and hoping it's not too bad. Sunday is sleep in day and Animal Kingdom. I'm hoping this plan works.

Last year we went the Sunday and Memorial day to upgrade Daughters pass. Had to do it in person. On Sunday MGM was a madhouse. We stayed at CR Tower on Memorial day but didn't go to the MK til late afternoon since it was an E-ride night. Watching the boats and the monorails bringing tons of people we could see it was busy. We hung out at CR where DD18 and DD10 rode the watermice til DD18 got stung by a bee. I was relaxing in the room when DD10 called and asked if DD18 was allergic to bees. I asked "when did it happen?" She said "about 20 mins ago." I asked "is she breathing and alive?" DD10 said "yes." I said "well, I guess she's not then." I joke about it now but for anyone that has rented these. She flagged down the patrol boat and they returned her to the CR marina for first aid. I'm sure they would have realized if there was a problem.
