Memorial Day at SSR! Who's with me?

We cant wait!!

We are staying in a 1 bdr and Im excited about the extra space, full kitchen, and laundry! We are kicking it up a notch BAM!!

If you see us around the Congress Park quiet pool, grilling and chillin, be sure to stop by! We dont plan on hitting the parks until Tuesday, so Memorial Day is our Resort Day.

What are your Memorial Day Plans?

Hi! I sent a post to you over on the "added snacks to DP" thread

We'll be checking into SSR on 5/30 after BWI. We're taking off from the parks on 5/30 & 6/1. We're a family of 6. DD17,DS13,DD10 & DS9. Hmm...I have to find picture. Ok DD17 is not in this but it should help:

We will be at VWL for Memorial Day. I am getting a little nervous about the crowds. Have you been at this time of year before? Gay Days is also at Disney World, beginning of June so make sure you avoid the park they will be in each day. I think there is about 100,000 of them, so that would be a lot of crowds!

Hey! I will be at SSR on Memorial Day. I am not sure of our plans, we kinda wing it, except for ADR's for dinner each night (a must). But we might spend it in the SSR pool too. I will look for you there!!

I was starting to think we would be there all by ourselves!!

jjohnson: Your fam is so cute!! I have 2 boys too! Definitely hope to see you there! Im kind of excited about the new snacks on the DP too!! We are considering adding the DP for our weekend stay when I decide where we are gonna stay! The DP snacks may need just the push I need to go ahead and book.

Cindy: (I hope you dont mind if I call u Cindy ) We go this time every year for the last 4 years. You will definitely see an uptick in the crowds over the holiday weekend but then they leave on Monday and that week is pretty quiet and then starts to pick up again on the weekend. The big crowds start rolling in on June 9th if i have it timed right.

Gay Days does bring a ton of people in, but we have always followed the advice to not visit MK on a Saturday. Any Saturday! We have never had an issue with this time of year at all. Gay Days has a pretty full schedule of special events and not all of their time is spent at WDW so if someone didnt tell you and you didnt visit MK on Saturday, you probably wouldnt even notice.

Tammy: We will definitely look for you by the pool!! I dont have a lime green swimsuit, but I can normally spot a Dis'er a mile away! LOL! Just look for the lady with the pool thermometer in one hand, and a laptop in the other! LOL! JK! My boys love Community Hall so we will definitely spend alot of time in that area.

We'll be there too. Crowds are there but not too bad. Enjoy Flower and Garden and Star Wars weekend! We will get around to seeing both but we don't do the crowds. WDW is for our relaxation only...no stress.

That was really funny! But I think it might be hot enough that we won't have to worry about being cold. I usually think that the pools at Disney are too hot in the summer, so maybe they won't have time to get hot in the next couple of weeks. But I will be able to find you because you are famous! Dancing with Prince Charming... I hope it doesn't rain that day!

As you noticed in another thread, we'll be arriving at WDW on Wed 3/31, but spending that night in a BCV Studio. The next morning we check-in to a 1BR at SSR and stay till Tuesday morning.

So if a short, balding man with a goatee starts to walk up to you.... RUN AWAY - 'cause I don't look anything like that!

I am sure i can find some airfare to come join you in your top notch 2 bedroom. I am missing WDW, we really liked DL and DL hotel, but our trip wasnt the same ( like the phrase " going home" ). I know we were just there for a few days before and after our cruise at christmas time and i am not sure i can wait until christmas to go again. We dont have plans for memorial day yet Im trying to work on an aug. trip i would like to go to VB for a few days too. Got points, I may need some ! Ill let you join us Enjoy your trip.

This sure beats our Memorial Day plans...we're 4-H leaders (with no kids in 4-H anymore) and our County Fair was moved from early May to Memorial Weekend this year so now we get to spend 5/23 - 5/29 at the Fair.

We tried to book the week before at WDW to see the Flower Festival, but couldn't get a reservation, so now we're taking a short 4 night cruise from San Francisco to Vancouver.
