What was the one toy you got for Christmas as a child that stands out in your mind?
Mine was the 3 story Barbie house with the elevator:D I LOVED that thing!!!

I got one of those Barbie houses with the elevator too when I was about 7. Played for hours with it.

But my favorite toy as a child was my Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

The Star Wars X-Wing fighter. It actually had a little light in front that lit up and the wings opened and closed.

Man, that thing would be worth a fortune today.

MERLIN (the red telephone type electronic game)

I had a Merlin too, loved it! (I was a teenager, but it was still very very cool)

When I was younger, I got a Donny and Marie Barbie set (that would be worth a fortune now as well), and a Cher barbie.. (with the hair down to her feet!)

Cindy B- I still have my Donny & Marie dolls in those purply ripped looking outfits they hd on.:D They were my 2nd choice right after the Barbie house:D

I was going to say my Barbie Dream House, too! Man, that thing was huge.

I had the airplane Barbie thing, instead of the dream house.. it was plastic with foam and cardboard, I can still remember the smell of new plastic...

I liked it!

The Donny and Marie dolls, memories....

I had a 3 foot doll that I loved and I loved my lincoln logs and Mr Potato Head. This probably really dates me, LOL!

Herc.

I got the My Little Pony mansion when I was 8. It was a HUGE (probably took up 4 or 5 square feet) ranch-style mansion complete with tons of furniture. I had hours of fun playing with it!

I loved that toy more than anything!!!!

I had a beloved Barbie house too. I don’t think mine had an elevator though. I do remember a big “B” on the wall (ala Mary Tyler Moore’s apartment) and a shuffleboard game on the patio.

But my favorite toy of all time was a Barbie Beauty Salon. It came with wigs and falls, barrettes and a fake hair dryer. Best of all--it had real hair dye! I could color Barbie’s hair bright orange or deep black.

Man, that toy was neat!

I feel sooooooooo old

My Tippy-Toes doll (battery operated, she could walk while holding onto a toy), my Dawn dolls and the Dawn Beauty Parlour...early 70's.

(Never got the Easy Bake Oven I always wanted)

A Jack-in-the-Box - when I was three..

CandyLand board game - when I was four..

Unique wooden doll house - when I was five..

A "Ginny" doll - when I was six..

Figure skates - when I was ten..

An electric organ - when I was thirteen..

--------------------------

None compared to the excitement of "Grandma's shoe box" though.. Just a box full of little doo-dads that I treasured beyond belief..

Christmas has never been the same since Grandma passed on...

:(
