Membership Magic Beyond

I guess they'll allow to buy the 2026 membership at the latest in June 2025. In case one wants the BOGOF OTU points for a January trip.

You can actually access the benefit all the way until the end of 2025 for points good up to July 2026.

Someone who buys into the program for 2025, can access any of those benefits during the year!

They don’t have to buy it for 2026 again. It’s all based on when you purchase them and not when you use them!

The Membership Magic Beyond site indicates that for exclusive access benefits "The enrolled Member can bring up to 4 guests or the number of guests on their resort stay reservation, whichever is greater." I frequently travel with family members who stay in rooms I book for them with my points. Does anyone know if the above means I could only bring the one person staying in my room or if all my guests staying in the rooms I booked with my points could attend the member lounge and character events with me? Thank you.

We just became DVC members but it's on a 100 point resale contract and we aren't eligible to do this Membership Magic Beyond thing. But if we did own 150 direct points, I absolutely would buy into this $99 annual thing because:
  • the 5-day WDW ticket price would save us $477 on tickets for our family of 4, if we bought the 1-park-per-day tickets.
  • OR if we bought 5-day PH WDW tickets, it would save us $502.
  • OR if we bought DL 3-day 1-park-per-day tickets midweek in May (for example), it would save us $724...that includes factoring in the LLMP.
  • OR if we bought DL 3-day PH tickets midweek in May (for example), it would save us $644.
  • AND being able to buy 24 one-time-use points for the cost of 12 would save us $240 (assuming a cost of $20/one-time-use point).
  • AND let's say we did a 1-week WDW trip AND a 3-day short DL trip in the same calendar year, taking into account the $99 membership fee, the membership would save us about $1287 (assuming a WDW PH ticket & DL PH ticket).
BUT will this get me to buy a 150-point direct contract for ~$33,150? Probably not.

BUT let's say we just used the discounted DL tickets benefit every year for the next 20 yr (assuming the program were to continue for that length of time), $724 * 20 = $14,480, which is a difference of $18,670.

Of course, I'm totally doing Disney math here in order to attempt to justify to my Disney-reluctant DH that we should buy a direct contract. LOL. AND, of course, Disney always says that any of the DVC membership benefit 'extras' like this can be taken away at any time.

Many of us did take Disney Math in college which I excelled at.
Unfortunately the Persuasion course I didn't do so well at which is evident when it comes to getting my SO to add on once more

Congrats on the first dip into DVC. Addonitis is a real disease.

Correct…only reservations that were booked in your membership at the same time you are there.

If you were only buying Direct to get the MMB, then I agree with your math. Trust me, we had several resale contracts before buying direct. There are many more benefits than this. Now, are they worth it, that's for each person to decide. I never thought I'd say it, but both my wife and I think it is worth buying direct. However, we regret not buying in when it was less points to qualify.

I think many of us think sort of the same just in our own scenarios. When I bought in 25 points was enough for benefits and my regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. That way I would have saved money because prices went up twice before I did.

Thank you. I was a little concerned as there was a slight language variation on the sites:

Epcot members lounge site indicates: A Member can bring in up to 4 Guests per Membership Card, or the number of Guests on their Resort reservation, booked within their Membership.

Membership Magic Beyond site indicates: The enrolled Member can bring up to 4 guests or the number of guests on their resort stay reservation, whichever is greater.

So what are the chances that on July 12 the price of one time use points goes up dramatically? Seems likely :)

My bad meant to say Jan 12 and not Jul 12. Jan 12 the day the benefits kick in.

All I’m saying is watch the OTU price go to like $30-40 per point and so the BOGO value diminishes from current rates of $20 per point.

I actually need to buy some OTU for a trip in march 2025. Trying to figure out if I just buy them now or wait for Jan 12.

I would not anticipate that happening. They were raised a couple of years ago from $19 to $22 but then dropped back down to $20. I would guess the $22 price point was deemed too high by DVC members (in other words they weren't getting purchased).

Considering that Magical Beginnings seems to be tied to the OTUP price I don't think Disney wants to write a $4,500 to $6,000 check on the first year of points of a 150 point contract.
My guess is they stick with shelling out $3,000 for those points

I must be missing something since the one prior poster noted they would have $477 on 4 tickets. For when we go in May currently (memorial day week), looks like the MMB tickets are a whopping $10 cheaper per adult vs direct from Disney? For 5 day 1 park per day tickets. Am i looking at it wrong?

Can buy tickets from the discount places for cheaper.

No you are not looking at it wrong. I don’t remember who but they were going that same week and found out it was a 1% savings. That person also wasn’t going to buy OTUP or visit the lounge so in their case were donating money to Disney by paying the $99. On top of the 1% they are week day only tickets where the ones from Undercover Tourist and others have no such restrictions.
