Membership cards

Hi!
We bought SSR in December and have not received our proper membership cards yet. We have the temporary ones but as we are heading to WDW at the end of April I was hoping to receive our real cards soon so we can use them for discounts during this trip. The temporary ones look a bit like we made them ourselves!

Do any SSR owners have theirs yet? Or will they be issued after opening?

I think I will call MS later for their response.

We've been SSR members since Feb 04 with no cards yet. The only thing we did get was the approval letter from DVC.

We don't officially close until June 1st, so I figure after it becomes legal, we'll get them.

At this point, I'd be happy to get the Vacation Magic magazine, we haven't got it either.

We purchased at SSR in February and have not yet received our "official" DVC cards...just the cheap paper ones. I'm thinking we will get them when our building (#3) officially opens in July and closing takes place. I'm just hoping we have them by our departure on August 21st!

We bought in February also. By reading other posts, I do not expect my closing to happen before June 1st or to get my membership card for a while.

We bought SSR 9/03. We received our cards in January.

From past experience, it seems that DVC prints and sends out these cards is large batches. We purchased DVC in 10/03 and received our cards along with MANY other folks here on the boards...I'd have to guess at the date...sometime in January maybe? I'd have to search for the posts.

My use year is Feb at SSR and I received my real membership card in late January-you might want to call Member Services. Good Luck!

now I bet you need to get the username and password, right??

You should have gotten that from your sales person. I called mine to get it from her and I was off and running. You'll find lots of great information on the site so visit often.

We also purchased in December. I'm not expecting our official cards until late May or June.

Were were just there in February and got all our discounts just by showing our room key that says "DVC Member" on it. Failing that I'm sure your temporary cards would work fine.

While at WDW your room key will designate you as a DVC Member allowing you all the discounts and perks for DVC members. I don't even bring my DVC membership card anymore if I am staying as a DVC member at WDW, and I have not had a problem showing just my room key.

The magazine comes out quarterly and it has all sorts of information concerning the different DVC resorts, member letters, etc. It's a nice read and I look forward to getting mine in the mail.

I have the access code and password for the DVC web site. I down loaded all the issues last night.

I've just been avoiding it because it's not very good, especially considering it's a Disney site. But I'm convienced that the new webpage will far exceed my expectations!

I called Member services and was told I wont get my card until 6-8 weeks after closing at the start of May!!!! I find this odd if others have got their cards for SSR. We are fully paid up too!!

Hello,
We joined last September with Saratoga Springs as home resort.
Our membership cards arrived in the middle of February, so dont hold your breath. We are off to SSR in July, looking forward to it.
