Member website - address change???

We moved from NY to FL recently and today I called member administration to change the address on our DVC contract. While waiting on hold, I noticed I could change my address on the member website. So I hung up and tried to do it the "easy way" (HA! Nothing on any Disney website is ever easy).

Anyway, even though the screen says "Welcome XXX Family" and the account screen shows both my husband & me as the owners on the deed, it will only let me change MY address. In big, bold writing is a statement to the effect "the change will only affect YOU and no one else on the deed. They will have to do it themselves" HUH??? Does this mean DH has to set up his own DVC member account online for the same contract?

As it is now, apparantly DH & I no longer live together in DVC land. I guess I'll have to wait until Tuesday & call them.

We just moved as well. I logged on, changed our address, and didn't notice the red letters telling me that it would just be my information that changed. Fast forward a few weeks later when my husband called about an add on. Our guide asked, "Do you want the documents mailed to you or your wife?" We giggled, had them mailed to me, and then DH called MS to change his address too. He was supposed to ask if he needed a log in as well, but somehow he didn't hear that request from me. :rotfl: I figure it is okay for now - until we move again. Just call when MS is open and make the change for your husband. If you find out about a separate log in for the spouse, do report here please. :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing your story - I'll definitely call Tuesday and report back.

We changed our address in the spring (both called MS), but some of our mailings still go to the old address. :headache: I did not receive the Planner or magazine. Any DME mailings go there, too. Very frustrating.

I hope you have better luck!

Just wanted to let you know - YES - each person on the deed is supposed to set up their own log in for the same contract. I called MS and they told me my husband had to set it up with the temporary CLUB ID# and PIN# he was given when we bought our first contract 4 years ago! (I thought we were given 1 pin, but apparently we were given 1 each). Needless to say, I could not find the papers with the PIN#, so he had to call MS and they gave it to him over the phone. He set up his online account & then was able to change his address & phone number. Alls well that ends well :-)

Maybe this is why I now get two of everything, one with mine and one with DW's name on it. But somehow DVC got the new address for each of us even though I only changed mine. The post office did automatically change our address on several accounts that we didn't want changed, including many like DVC that you would think couldn't be automatically changed.

I think you are on to something because the same thing happens to us now after we moved 2 years ago. We get everything in duplicate. I changed my address via the website but DW never changed hers.

Thanks for the update! Who knew we had two PINs? I don't remember getting a second one for DH either. Maybe I should look through our paperwork. I'll have to investigate. Thanks for reporting back. :wizard:
