Had an awesome surprise when I called Member Services to reserve a deluxe studio for 1 night for my nephew and his wife. No studios showed up at BLT online so I was going to reserve VWL. Well, I got a very nice young man who asked me to hold on and he might be able to get me a lake view BLT studio. Well, guess what, he did!! He was working on Easter and we both admitted he made my Easter extra special with the delightful surprise. My nephew and his wife were thrilled they got BLT. They have a 4 year old and all he's talking about is seeing the monorail go thru the inside of the Contemporary. By staying at BLT, they will have easy access. Plus, walking to MK makes it perfect. :thumbsup2
 
Thanks. I forgot to mention that I was well into the 30 day window so wasn't expecting it at all.
 
What a nice surprise! I have had a similar experience but wondered how what they see that gives them a clue that a resort might be available. Shouldn't it be "Yes or "No"? Kinda makes you wonder if we should still call to make reservations...

Yes, I believe he was checking to see what had been handed over to CRO and whether there were some that matched what I needed. He got back on the line and said it was available but it would take some time for him to get it for me (I'm assuming the transfer process back into DVC inventory). I was so thrilled, I told him to take all the time he needed.
 
Actually once the inventory leaves DVC and goes to the DRC, they have to contact the DRC management to see if they will release the room back to DVC.

Thanks Sammie. I could tell there was a process because it took some time. Sure glad that option exists.
 
I had the same thing happen to me today! No availabilty showing online for 2 nights of a stay I wanted to book at Jambo house. MS rep put me on hold and was able to get not one, but two rooms!
 
What a great story. I love hearing when things work out. I wish everyone at Member Service went the extra mile like the to MS Cast Members each of you got. That's Disney magic as it should be. Congratulations!!

Yes it can take a few minutes, sometimes they have to also check with the actual resort management too.
