Member referral gift?

Do they still give something to Members who refer someone who buys into DVC? Our tablemates on DCL listed our name on their card when they signed up. Just wondering.

Yes but it depends on what state you live in. We recived two hundred Disney dollars for a referral. Not sure if it is allowed in your state or not though. I'm also not sure if that card will do? Usually you have to send the names of who you are referring to DVC.

I received a letter today from DVC thanking me for referring a family. It said they were being given additional information, but I know they signed before leaving the cruise. Maybe I will hear something once they confirm a contract has been signed. I'm sure our state allows the gift because other members I know have received money. Thanks for answering.

Due to state laws, DVC is unable to offer the referral bonus in certain states. It is based upon the state in which the referrer (current DVC member) resides.

Here is the list of states that allow referrals:

Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisianna, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missisippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Bonuses are based upon the number of successful referrals in one calendar year. I believe that the calendar year is based upon the year in which the closing occurs.

1st referral-$200 Disney Dollars
2nd referral-$350 Disney Dollars
3rd referral-$500 Disney Dollars

Several weeks after closing, DVC will notify the referrer and offer several options for the bonus: receive the funds in cash (Disney Dollars), apply to next year's Annual Dues, or apply toward an add-on purchase.

We also received a mailing from DVC earlier this year indicating that for referrals in 2004, they were offering a special framed DVC pin set as an incentive.

NC stinks!!! Bad enough that we aren't allowed a lottery but we can't receive referral gifts either, whatz up with that?

We have a lottery in MI, but I feel your pain about the no referral bonus!!

My state of Oklahoma doesn't allow any referral bonuses. My husband has been talking up DVC to everyone he works with and several of them are considering calling. If I changed our address on file to my mother's address in Missouri, would we receive a referral bonus if someone bought in?

we refer people all the time over here and we dont even get a thank you letter but i will still refer
