I just got an email inviting me and the family to join in on a 'test' of an event DVC is considering for members. But it costs $50 for adults and $40 for kids. It includes:

Shoes
Bowling
Dinner
Signature drink
Share app
Special DVC gift

I have no idea what it normally costs to bowl and eat there but this seems excessive (unless I'm out of touch on pricing)

Here's a snip from the email

"Practice precedes success in any sport, even if it's the kind of friendly sport that lets players enjoy dinner during the game. That's why Disney Vacation Club is hosting a select group of local Members for two "warm-up" events at Splitsville Luxury Lanes" in preparation for future Member nights at this Downtown Disney West Side hotspot.

These Member test events will take place on Dec. 2 and 9 from 5-6:45 p.m., and the experience will include bowling, shoe rental, a shared appetizer, a select entrée (or kids' meal), a signature beverage and a special Disney Vacation Club gift, all for just $50.06 per adult or $40.47 per child ages 3-9"

That seems like its a deal when considering the cost of Splitsville usually is. We've been twice and spent easily $150 if not more each time for the two of us

I just got the email too. Not sure what the signature drink is, but the time we were there we really enjoyed the $15 Bloody Marys served in fish bowl glasses. Oh, and the food was good too. Hmmm...may have to consider this.

Splitsvill is a lot of fun. Food is fairly decent. great family atmosphere. I think you should try it for these prices.

Good Lord! $150 to bowl and eat! Only at Disney. Thanks for warning me in advance to stay far, far away from this place.

It seems like a pretty good deal. I haven't bowled there, but did enjoy a meal with a fellow mod there last week. The meal was good, and assuming it would include at least entree, beverage and dessert, it sounds well discounted for the bowling.

I would do it. Yes its a pretty penny to eat and bowl. My grandson, son and I enjoyed it. Will do it again.

Unfortunately that's how much it costs to bowl at the Splitsville's around the rest of the country too, not just at Disney. Same with the AMC Dine-In Theatre everyone complains about. Same prices in Disney as they are back home by me.

Wow. The price of bowling is out of control. :rotfl:

It sounds like a good deal. I'm into bowling, but when I saw the price of what Splitsville cost, I decided to pass. I can bowl at home for a lot cheaper.

Wow. On Sundays at our bowling alley we can bowl two games with shoe rental for $6.

Our local bowling alley closed over 10 years ago. The building is abandoned, just sitting there. :( So yes, I will probably take advantage of this special when traveling with friends, but I don't have a group trip planned until 2015.

Well I am bummed because I would have loved to have done this and we are going to be there on the Dec 9th and didn't get an invite. I guess it is for members that are local. Oh well!!! I would definitely do it! Have fun and report back!

We're going to be there on Dec.9 as well, no invite either:confused3

Yeah, it specifically said for locals. We live 10miles away so about as local as it gets. I talked it over with DH and its just not worth $100 for a couple hours out for the 2 of us. I couldn't even consider taking the kids and its a school night anyway. We can go out to dinner 2x with all 6 of us for the same amount as this one evening for 2.

If we reconsider I will report back to what it was. :)

We are thinking about going to Splitsville on Sunday night Dec 8 to watch the Panthers Saints game.

Good idea or not? I'm thinking ESPN club will be too crowded.

Well, we don't bowl but would love to participate in this event. Looks like a pretty decent value as far as a Disney event goes.

We will be there Dec 2 but since we aren't local didn't get the invitation. :sad1:

We thought about going to Splitsville to bowl and watch the BCS National Championship. I'm glad we chose to do something else. Wow!
