Member Mixers in December

Does anyone know the day of week. The Cast Member I spoke with said Thursday so I made my reservation with a Friday checkout. Then I checked an old thread and it said they were held on Friday. Any idea when they really are going to be held this Dec? Thanks

Until DVC officially annouces dates for this year, there's no telling what day of the week they may fall on.

Last year, only the first was on a Friday, the others were on Thursday. Someone mentioned that they were on a different day in previous years, maybe Tuesdays.

What is a member mixer?

It's a party put on by the sales division of DVC. The parties happen once a week usually and last year they were held in a Contemporary ball room. You get a snack, a drink, some gift. There are characters, music (young kids had a ball dancing I remember that from last year). There were lines for people who were buying special pins? The line for pictures with the characters took about 15 minutes. I was at the first one last year and the queue to enter took at least 1/2 hour. You needed to show a member card. That was the holdup, eventually, they began letting people in just by showing your room key. The keys used to say DVC member on it, now maybe you will have to show your member card if they have the party.

As we left, we each got a pewter gingerbreadman shaped tree ornament. It was a very nice souvenir.

I'll go again if I'm there for one.

Since it might be on Friday I changed our reservation to a week so we won't miss it.

It used to be on the BCV side of Epcot. We would walk there. I liked it a lot but it has gotten bigger and rowdier each year. I like the presents though. And the years I went they had excellent cookies and give aways.
