It was a great day!
Was going to say cool day but that was the farthest from the truth, it was 95, full sun and humid!

The day starts out at OKW with us being brought over to DTD west side by Cirque in Mears buses, the same ones used for the Disney Cruise Line, 2x2 cushy seats, no transport buses here.
We arrive at DTD to a stage, and folding seating outside. This was a little brutal by the end of the event, but worth it to be there.

They are again offering free beverages and this time little battery powered fans. Kind of think the fans were a last minute addition because of the heat wave as they were scrambling to get them setup and in everyone's hands. They are not even logoed.

The crowd is warmed up by Miss Sara Toga and Miss Dee Vee Cee :p The show really begins with the Dapper Dans doing a few acapella numbers, then the VP sayign a few words and introducing the real entertainer of the day, Jodi Benson of Ariel fame who was a trooper in the heat and did some excellent renditions of modern Disney favorites. And then the show turns to the President of the resorts and the president of WDW Al Weiss making a couple of speeches then the actual ceremony. This consisted of all thebosses and the actual Mayor of Saratoga Springs NY puring genuine spring water into this device that then fires off fireworks. It kind of looked at first like they were shelling their new resort! Then the BIG stuff fired off over the resort and we dispersed.

At this point you could get in a huge line for lunch or walk to the resort for other specials, we chose the latter. They had some nice giveawaysi ncluding the artists who actually did artwork thats in the resort autographing posters. After touring the resort and collecting freebies we headed back for lunch on the new boat shuttles, they are nice.

We get back, and sure enough, no line. Lunch consisted of a Taste of Downtown Disney, all the major restaruants had booths offering up one specialty from their menu, sample size. It was excellent, had a little of everything.

And that kind of wrapped the day for us, as being out in the heat was getting to us by now. They also had a parade and some other events at Saratoga that we opted to skip due to our exhaustion. Saw some clips on the local news, looked like a fun time.

Now we pack to go home. I'll put together something on par with the SS Member cruise website linked below when I get home, this time including video clips. I'll post when I have that together. See you all later.

Your's and Mary's reports have been great - thanks for giving us the "blow by blow" "Live - on the scene!!" :)

Have a safe trip back - we're off to OKW tomorrow!

Beth I'm so bummed we are missing you by so little time. We hit the road tomorrow morning for home.

You would have loved the Homecoming event - there were lots and lots of DVC Member Cruise shirts all 3 days.

Have a great trip!

Sounds like a really great time. Next time they have an event, and if the price is right, maybe I'll consider it.

Yeah, Mary - I thought those were the shirts that Gayle and John were wearing in your pictures. Was that Cheryl and her husband in the car in Test Track, also?

Glad you guys had so much fun - we'll definitely try to make it next time!

Thanks Mark & Mary for sharing your experience. I look forward to seeing the pictures. Sounds like the new head of DVC is true to his word and is taking care of the members! :)

yep that was me and Todd..

Hey too bad we didn't get a pic of the empty team 4 =)
