Question:

Why are we permitted to make a member discounted ressie for a dedicated 2BR, but not for a 2BR lock off??

MS reservationist informed me of this yesterday and I am still trying to figure out why. Does anyone have the answer? Thanks!

Kathy

Maybe because a lock-off takes two units (a 1 bedroom and studio) out of member inventory, and a lot of folks may transfer to studios on the weekends to save points? Just a guess, though.

Which resort? I thought for BCV it was just the opposite.

The VWL.

I'm waitlisting, not just for some more days, but also for the dedicated 2BR.
Normally, it wouldn't matter whether it was dedicated or lock-off, but I really want to do one of our weekend nights cash and, naturally, I want the discount.

She said that 2 BR lockoffs are never reserved with the member discount, nothing to do with inventory, and I thought that it seemed odd.

Perhaps when I call again tomorrow to check availability on my waitlist days I will ask a different CM.

Sure hope my waitlist comes through.

I'm not sure, but I know I've seen many parents who were uncomfortable with a 2 bedroom lock-off b/c they didn't want their young children sleeping in studio with separate entrance/exit. The kids could potentially exit more easily without notice or lock-off the lock off.

If you want a lock-off, well, I think the above poster is correct about it taking more out of inventory. This of it this way, at VWL during Dream season:

A 2-bedroom is 314 pts per week

A 1-bedroom is 252 pts per wek and a studio is 123 pts per week (for a total of 375 pts per week )

I'm more curious if they only do lock-offs if they otherwise couldn't fill the space or if they decided that a certain number of one-bedroom/studio combos will be used for lock offs.
