Who is going to have to barrow points for this cruise? I have enough for 2 rooms in the cat. 10 & 11's. I was woundering if I sould just barrow and get the rooms I really want! (2005 Dec. use year) Any ideas? Thanks ,Chris:wave:

I'm borrowing points because except for our Christmas '05 trip, I have all our DVC vacations booked for next year, and I'm saving our VWL '05 points just for that.

There's just 2 of us, we're going to go for one of the lesser expensive categories, cat. 9's points would be the most that I want to borrow.

Once you book, your points are then put in the reservation point category, and I'm not worried about our use year, March, for us, the reservation points would have to be used by the end of February, 06 and I'm hoping that we could spend them on a concierge stay someplace, but truly, I hope we get on the cruise and get to go! We both want to experience a Member's Something, firsthand.

I don't think I would worry about a December use year either, but if I had enough points to just go with '05 points, and I thought I could have a good time, I would just stick with using '05 points. I am somewhat concerning about the remaining points this cruise will leave us in '06, but then I guess we can borrow. However, the point of us buying the 150 point VB add on this year was that we wouldn't have to worry about not having points to do what we want. Sigh, never enough points!

bobbiwoz, thanks for the reply. I guess I needed to tell you I have 454pts left in my 2004 use year. So I wouldn't be barrowing even a 1/3 rd of one of our contracts. I just need some help with desiding to not barrow or to barrow for a better room Cat. Will I really be happy in a inside room is the ? The last couple of cruises I had a cat 6 and up! I know the size of the Cat 10's work for us ! It's just giving up the veiw!!:( Help me!) ????

Well as my tag says "have verandah will cruise" which means I really love verandahs. For the last member cruise we didn't have enough points left (and had plans for our next year points) for a verandah so we went with a cat 8 (the large porthole). I think it was fine for the 4 day cruise. Personally I wouldn't want one for a longer cruise.

The important thing to us was to be on the cruise and I'm glad we went. This time we have enough points that we are going for our favorite - the navigator verandah.

Since most of my consternation about this cruise has been about a view, I know if I were in your shoes, I would go for a room with a view. We're new to Disney cruises but we've had balconies on our last 2 out of 3 cruises, but that's just out of the question here, and it's because of the day at sea that I'm really leaning toward a cat. 9 as our first choice.

Our only experience with an inside cabin was a RCCL 4 night cruise out of Puerto Rico. There was a port each day, and during the daytime when we were on the ship, I would gather by one of the common areas with a huge window and play cards and read with my DM and DSis. DH watches movies or TV, he's not a fan of watching the ocean, and as far as he's concerned if we can't have a balcony, he's happy with an inside cabin.

PS. Our cruise documents just arrived for our 3 night cruise in November!

That's a good point with the day at sea - I will just be happy to get a room and join my friends on this cruise!

I have to borrow points from 2006. I used 1,008 for a 7 day western this past August (4 adults) in addition to I don't know how many points for a 7 night stay at OKW and a 4 night stay at the Grand Californian in November I have only 279 left in 2005!!

Thanks! I think I'm leaning torwards a Cat 6 or 7 with one cat 11. We are a family of five. That would still give us a view in one room. Plus 2 bathrooms,2 TV's and more closet space!
