I don't know if this is the right place for this, but . . . . .
I went on a Disney cruise this summer and loved, loved, loved it! How do I find out about the next member cruise? I would LOVE to go but I need to plan vacations a year in advance. Any hope?

Hello there....hear the next member cruise is September 13, 2009. We also have to plan our vacations at work in October for the next year...but I also have a question for some of the members who did the member cruise this year...how much does it cost for a cat. 11 or 12 on a cash basis? We keep our points for the resorts...so we would have to do the cash thing.

Thanks....

Tom

They should be mailing information out this next week and it should be on the website.

Booking will begin on 11/2 and it must be paid in full at the time of booking.

Here are the cash prices for the '08 cruise to give you an idea. I expect that the prices for '09 will be higher if for no other reason than fuel surcharges. This is taken from the '08 thread and from one of our members calling MS before booking day.

Cash Price Per Person (Based on double occupancy)

Cat 3 $2,264
Cat 4 $1,384
Cat 5 $1,195
Cat 6 $1,147
Cat 7 $1,081
Cat 8 $992
Cat 9 $944
Cat 10 $916
Cat 11 $869
Cat 12 $869

Additional people

Over 12 $589 (I think I heard correctly)
6-12 $542
3-5 $528
under 3 $227

OK....we have never done the member cruise....do you think it is worth the kind of money they get for it....we just got off a 4 day on 9/18 and it cost us 900 for 2 adults in a cat 11.....it is 1700+ for 2 adults in a cat 11....is it that special that spending the money is worth it....
Thanks for your imput...cause we will spend it if it is really worth it.....

Everyone is different. To us the value of the Member Cruises are the special guests DVC brings on board. To others they don't see that value and would rather go on a regular DCL cruise or maybe even cruise with a different cruise line. Here is a link to our live thread from this years Member Cruise to give you a feel of what it was like http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1952403

The DVC Member Cruise is pricier than regular 4 day cruises by DCL in that time period for sure. There are some nice perks, and we met so many wonderful people (fellow DVC Members) on this cruise, that it certainly does create a wonderful feeling of camaraderie. That being said, I would definitely go with a regular 4 day DCL cruise if the time frame or the pricing were an issue for us. That is an individual decision, and keep in mind you can always do a DVC Member Cruise in years down the road, if they are still offering them at that time.

More details of my own DVC Member Cruise experience will follow when I return home tomorrow! :yay:
