I have been waiting for a Member Cruise TR, and haven't seen any. Did I missed something? :confused3. Maybe I am missing something?

I was on the cruise but haven't done a full TR yet. I am surprised nobody else has posted anything.

The Christmas decorations for the Prep and Landing night were great! I forgot to mention that the CM's had on striped scarves, it was very festive.

I was on the Member Cruise also - I liked it - we (dh) and I both enjoyed the entertainment - of course the presentation was okay - a nice deal if you want to buy at AKV - but after much thought we decided we already have enough points at AKV and we'll take our chances for getting on the next cruise - the price per point is up there for us! Joey Fatone was okay as a guest host but we truly enjoyed Ducky, one of the Disney's best, and his shows, and I got to win a sketch! We also went to his Drawing Sessions as he makes it looks so easy to draw Baloo! We also enjoyed some of the other entertainment onboard - Disney Vault - Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives with artifacts from WDW was another one of my favorites. The Deck Party with a showing of the newest Disney Prep and Landing and a chat with the Directors was a fun time - the ship looks good in Holiday deco - esp AquaDuck! An Evening with Kermit the Frog was fun and I got so misty when he rose up from the floor with his swamp and banjo and singing "Why Are There So Many Songs About Rainbows" - the crowd sure seemed pleased around me! This was my second time on the Dream and I really got to know the ship better this time - it's a beauty! Oh, I forgot to mention that we were invited to a Cocktail hour at the Walt and Roy Disney Suite - those rooms are on the Concierge level and at the front of the ship - beautiful rooms and a little time to mingle with the Executives of DVC.
The gifts in our room were nice - a soft sided little suitcase with all the DVC resorts stamped on it and filled with various items. Little gifts everyday put a smile on our faces and we enjoyed each gift and the connection to Disney. The wine glasses will be nicely displayed for a while before being used.
So, we enjoyed our Member Cruise - were happy to meet the DVC executives and other DVC cast members - and were happy to be on another beautiful Disney ship and Castaway Cay - our escape from reality!
It was a nice trip - people we had something in common with - a wonderful server in the dining rooms, and the smiles we saw around the ship. Can't please everyone, I heard a few grumbles, but this gal was happy to be there!

I'm glad that those who went enjoyed themselves, but to me DVC dropped the ball a few years ago, The theme hasn't changed in the last 3 years, one of the gifts (the small suitcase) has been the same for the last 5. Most of the guests are repeats as well. I mean I love Ducky but he's been on so many cruises now it just isn't as special. The dropped the special Member Cruise website a few years ago, not that it mattered at that point because they weren't updating it.

I remember the days of Roy Disney, Art Linkletter, Richard Sherman, the leading ladies of Disney on Broadway and so many other Disney greats. To me the best ones will always be 2005 and 2007. 2005 was the best run IMHO while 2007 has the best guest line-up (Disney Legends).

That special feeling just doesn't seem to be there any more.

Not sure anyone could beat the cruise we had with David in charge but I think they are trying to build on his success with keeping the theme. They do have quite a challenge there - I suggested that someone talk to him to see if he can offer any input to keep the members happy with this special cruise.
I also feel that so much happened with the changes at the helm of DVC that they were trying to please us but as I said to many of the DVC people I talked with - talk to the members and assure them that everything will be better going forward!
We shall see if anything I shared with them as far as I was feeling had any impact whatsoever.

We had a nice time on the DVC members cruise. The Dream is beautiful and we loved the AquaDuck. I agree that this year's cruise didn't measure up to years past.

I was slightly disappointed in the food. It was good, but not spectacular. Dinner desserts were very ordinary.

The member gifts were okay...but the gifts we received in 2007 were a bit nicer.
I also missed the DVC Members cruise website and emails. Back in '07, it was great to receive updates on the cruise and it helped to build more excitement. Not sure why they did away with those great marketing opportunities.

Thanks for responding everyone! Having never been on a Member Cruise, I was curious about it. popcorn:: Hope to read more about it.
