Member Cruise Discount (Speculate with Me!)

We are less than a month away from the 2025 Member Cruise (oh no, it just dawned on me how incredibly crowded the member celebration events are going to be, lol).

IIRC, last year there were pretty impressive discounts for points and I think they were released in advance. Does anybody remember what they were last year and also does anybody want to guess what they will do this year?

I am not in the mood for most of the currently available properties (at least, not at the prices Disney is asking), but I could probably be tempted to pick up a small block of points at a sold out resort…for the right price.

I could have sworn I read in another thread that whatever was offered at sea for incentives wasn't allowed to be different than what us land lubbers had access to. Are they allowed to do that with the FL timeshare laws?

It may be true, but I don't see how a "buy on cruise only" incentive breaks that rule. It's just like a "Disney visa" incentive or "passholder incentive" - it applies to some but not others.

You can't buy on cruise when you are on land so it just doesn't apply to you, just like the passholder incentive doesn't apply to non-passholders. And the "buy on cruise" incentive would expire on debarkation day.

They absolutely can offer different prices to different markets. Other developers do not have firm pricing at all.
Just throwing out an idea here, as I seem to recall unique incentives on cruises. I haven't seen the exact wording on this. But it is possible that the wording is designed to protect the Florida deed tax (which can be a chunk of money), when contracts are initiated in international waters?

Sorry it wasn't my intention to highjack this thread but I am genuinely curious what past cruise incentives have been (and I don't mean 10 years ago I mean recent ones).

I bought into DVC on a cruise and they were offering $1000 above and beyond the incentives generally being offered that season. I honestly don’t know if there was some other sort of comparable that might have been available on land, but we got AUL for about $173/pt (which did not require selling back any points via MB) in Jan of 2023.
