Melted Cheese is gone!! :(

It amazes me how cheap some people are. I would see people at the work cafeteria go up to the fixings bar to put stuff on their sandwich they brought from home. Those people will be the first to complain when prices go up to compensate for their theft.

And, they end up ruining things for others.

Yes, I've read even on here about people saying "Just take your bread and if you want meat and cheese, then go to Pecos Bill's and get all the lettuce and tomatoes and other toppings you want." And then they take up tables from paying guests to eat their meal partly brought from home/hotel and mostly consisting of stolen toppings.

1) Unbelievable, only a few guests have even complained about no cheese.
2) Seems lie it wasn't that big of a deal to have or not have it.
3) So, don't look for it to return.

Okay, apparently this was like the best plastic cheese ever and I missed it. I will go to my grave wondering what the stuff tasted like. ;)
Crap. It tasted like crap

That doesn't explain why they aren't just selling it behind the counter. Corn dog nuggets are literally our Disney snack. My husband would gladly pay 75cents - $1.00 for hot plastic cheese to dip our corn dog nuggets in and that isn't an option.

If you know anyone who does the ordering, do tell them we will be happy to be "nickeled and dimed" when we arrive on January 11th.
You can walk to Pete's area and buy a cup of cheese at the pretzel stand. We had it on Tuesday last week. It's not my favorite product but I can say that cup of cheese was 1000 times better than the liquid stuff that was out in the past.

I HATE mustard, but it might work for my husband. He's the one all about the corn dog nuggets anyway.

He's not even on Disboards, but he said "Maybe since the nuggets have gone away, I need to try a dole whip again. Everyone seems all about those darn things...."
They have not gone away.

I no longer feel the desire to go to Casey's... :(

Yep, The first time I went and discovered it was gone, it was a sad meal. After that, I haven't had a desire to go back. And we used to go every single time we went to MK.

I think more people have complained than you elude to. But if it was removed as a "safety" reason, yeah it won't be back. It was definitely popular, otherwise it wouldn't have been there as long as it did. Personally, I think it had to do with the fact that it was free, and Disney doesn't like giving anything away for free.

Then explain the new topping bar at Pecos, with even better, higher quality, free toppings.

I apologize, as I didn't really finish my thought properly. What I meant to say was" Coupled with the safety issues and the fact that it was free (and Disney doesn't like giving anything away for free, if they can help it), means I'm sure it won't return."

I can't really explain why they decided to keep the toppings bars, other than the fact that we're paying out the butt already for a hot dog, hamburger, and the like so I'm sure they can afford it. Also, produce is cheaper than canned cheese.

As with many things, it's a matter of personal preference. I can see from your previous post that you did not enjoy the cheese. I, however, did, and I miss it.

Must be. It works out in my favor as I love the toppings added to Pecos and can't stomach liquid yellow goo (DH on the other hand, did love the stuff)

I didn't read all the posts but does this mean I can't get cheese with my Mickey Pretzel?

I will die without it...

According to @AngiTN she got some at a pretzel stand. So you might be ok.
Yes, they had cups of it, Ortega brand. They have a sealed top and are not heated.
We got it on Tuesday last week over in the Pete's area, just outside of Dumbo.
I had to admit it wasn't half bad.

So it's cold liquid cheese? Or am I just not understanding that properly? How odd.

It's not cold so much as it's air temperature
The containers it's in do not have to be refrigerated
Nor are they heated.
It's a product that's been used for years at our local ball parks.
Cup of cheese, bag of chips, tossed on a tray for you to hold it all while you dip chips in cheese

Found a picture of it

It's like room temperature cheese dip. Our local stores sell it in jars for tortilla chips, pretzel bites, etc. You can either microwave it at home or use it as is.

AH! Thank you. I was having a hard time figuring it out, but the picture did it. Thanks!!! That actually helps a lot. And since it's sealed, I can buy a couple and throw them in my bad for when I go to eat at Casey's. Thanks @AngiTN!
