Melody, a dream squad member, at EPCOT made a lot of magic on Sun, Nov 16. My sister and I were at EPCOT for rope drop on Sun wearing matching t-shirts. Melody stopped to talk to us about our shirts and we ended up visiting with her for over 30 minutes. Her incredible enthusiasm and love of her job and WDW was so much fun to share that I could have spent all day with her.
My sister and I were in WDW for a sisters only weekend, sans husbands and kids!! We had been to the World 6 weeks before with our families, so we knew that we didn't have to 'do' anything. We had determined that we were going to enjoy the little magical touches that we sometimes overlook while we are trying to keep up with our families. Coming across Melody was an unexpected bonus.
It is always fun to talk with other Disney-philes. (Isn't that why a lot of us are here, after all?) This was extra special because she was a Disney-phile on the 'inside'! She shared with us the fun of camaraderie of cast members, how she got her job, how much she loved it, and why it doesn't lose the magic even while it is a job. She made us feel great when we were able to share the DIS Board Mickey Head Paint Chip symbol. It was fun to see how excited she was with that little bit of info.
As a final kindness, she walked with us into Innoventions where she kindly took photos of my sister and I together with all the characters....on both of our cameras!!
After we separated from her, we continued to have a great day but we never saw her again. We looked for her several times, but must have missed her. She was aware of the DIS Boards and had visited before, so I'm hoping that she sees this. THANK YOU MELODY!!
